Historia
Three tiny, ancient beings - Moss, Burnet and Cumulus, once revered as Guardians of the Wild World - wake from winter hibernation in their beloved ash tree home. When it is destroyed, they set off on an adventure to find more of their kind, a journey that takes them first into the deep countryside and then the heart of a city. Helped along the way by birds and animals, the trio search for a way to survive and thrive in a precious yet disappearing world.

a calming book bringing nature closer
Revisado: 11-04-22
I found the narration very calming, soothing, easy to follow and get absorbed into. I enjoyed it most for the nice atmosphere it creates, the introduction of different species of birds, insects, animals and plants and for including a positive model in the characters' interaction of handling different emotions, conflict, inner processes which I found very child friendly.
Overall, I enjoyed it and will listen or read with my children once they're older!

Would not recommend

Found the narrating very "computerized" and impersonal. As others have said about this book, I felt the data/info presented and shared aren't accurate. Also, I find the way the author blames males/females for different behaviours to be problematic and risky of reinforcing distance and hatred between the female and male populations. Finally, at times I thought some of the statements to be quite conservative.
one point I agree with, is the "it takes a village" to raise a child. absolutely agree with that and agree with the fact western societies suffer from the individualistic norms we experience.
