Historia
In 1972, when workers in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, were digging the foundations for a new development, the last thing they expected to find was a skeleton at the bottom of a well. Who the skeleton was and how it got there were two of the long-held secrets kept by the residents of Chicken Hill, the dilapidated neighborhood where immigrant Jews and African Americans lived side by side and shared ambitions and sorrows. Chicken Hill was where Moshe and Chona Ludlow lived when Moshe integrated his theater and where Chona ran the Heaven & Earth Grocery Store.

Perspective
Revisado: 10-24-24
Like no other book I have ever read, this book gives each character the opportunity to give his or her perspective of life in America and begs for us to see it in the light of our own lives.

Expect God to Speak
Revisado: 08-27-24
The scriptures and examples helped to make this topic practical and inviting. When we expect to hear from God and are willing to wait, He does not disappoint.

For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Stands Alone
Revisado: 10-17-23
I first fell in love with books as a young child because of their ability to either teach me, fill my heart, or touch my soul. Not until this book, have I found a book that did all of those things. This story truly stands alone, head and shoulders above others.

Compelling
Revisado: 07-17-23
The title seemed interesting, but I had no reason to believe that I’d actually like the book. The more I heard, the more it resonated with me. Then I found myself replaying parts of it and taking notes. Strangely practical and surprisingly motivating.

Historia
Almost six million Americans—about one in every ten people over the age of sixty-five—have Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias, and this number is projected to more than double by 2050. What is it like to live with and amid this increasingly prevalent condition—an affliction that some fear more than death? In My Father’s Brain, the distinguished physician and author Sandeep Jauhar sets his father’s descent into Alzheimer’s alongside his own journey toward understanding this disease and how it might best be coped with, if not cured.

My Experience As Well
Revisado: 07-10-23
I first heard the author talk about his book during an interview on Apple News. Very interested, I purchased the Audible copy. I have been so touched by the way it paralleled my own experiences with my mother, who passed away in March of 2022. Thank you for filling in the gaps with pertinent information about Alzheimer’s. I thoroughly enjoyed this presentation.
