Historia
For the first time, John Sampson is on his own. The brilliant crime-solving duo of Washington, DC’s, Metro PD and the FBI has a proven MO: Detective Alex Cross makes his own rules. Detective John Sampson enforces them. When military-style attacks erupt, brutally sidelining Cross, Sampson is sent reeling. The patterns are too random—Sampson’s friend, his partner, his brother—have told him. Don’t trust anyone. As a shadow force advances on the nation’s capital, Sampson alone must protect the Cross family, his own young daughter, and every American, including the president.

I Miss Alex Cross the DC Cop
Revisado: 06-18-24
I am sad to say I may be done reading Alex Cross after all these years! I loved him as the DC Cop. Not loving the White House, Political route these books are taking.

Historia
Eccentric, reclusive Walter Rennert lies cold at the bottom of his stairs. At first glance the scene looks straightforward: a once-respected psychology professor done in by booze and a bad heart. But his daughter, Tatiana, insists that her father has been murdered, and she persuades Clay Edison to take a closer look at the grim facts of Rennert's life. What emerges is a history of scandal and violence and an experiment gone horribly wrong that ended in the brutal murder of a coed.

Not Bad for His First Book
Revisado: 06-18-24
Not a bad read. Will be able to judge more after continuing to read the series. I absolutely love Alex Delaware, so figured I would give it a try.

Return to Original Murder Club Stories
Revisado: 06-18-24
I have always loved James Patterson's Women's Murder Club books. This one was disappointing. Did not like the three stories in one, shifting back and forth and barely any "murder club" time. Could definitely have done without the story involving Lindsey's husband Joe, and with three stories going on at once, there was no depth to any of them.
Go back to keeping it about the women's murder club. It worked.

Historia
In the quiet of twilight, on an early autumn day, 26-year-old Elisa Vandersteel is killed while riding her bicycle along the Charles River. It appears she was struck by lightning - except the weather is perfectly clear, with not a cloud in sight. Dr. Kay Scarpetta, the Cambridge Forensic Center's director and chief, decides at the scene that this is no accidental act of God. Her investigation becomes complicated when she begins receiving a flurry of bizarre poems from an anonymous cyberbully who calls himself Tailend Charlie.

Enough of Carrie Grethen!
Revisado: 01-09-17
I am a huge fan of Dr. Scarpetta and have never missed a book. However, this one was very slow going for the first half and hard to get into. I also think it is definitely time to move on from the Carrie Grethen storyline and create some new material. I hope the next book will be as good as all the ones before this; more concentration on the cases and the camaraderie of the characters.

Somewhat Disappointing
Revisado: 12-27-15
After reading the book prior to this one, this one left something to be desired. Alex Cross books are usually so riveting, but not this one. This one could definitely be skipped. Hope Patterson makes up for it in the next one!
