Historia
Franz Kafka's 1915 novella of unexplained horror and nightmarish transformation became a worldwide classic and remains a century later one of the most widely read works of fiction in the world. It is the story of traveling salesman Gregor Samsa, who wakes one morning to find himself transformed into a monstrous insect. This hugely influential work inspired George Orwell, Albert Camus, Jorge Louis Borges, and Ray Bradbury, while continuing to unsettle millions of readers.

A New Translation of a Body Horror Classic
Revisado: 10-20-23
This rendition of "The Metamorphosis" stands out for two compelling reasons. First, the translator, Susan Bernofsky, exhibits exceptional skill in her craft, breathing fresh and captivating life into Kafka's masterpiece. Secondly, the inclusion of a remarkable introduction, authored by the renowned body horror filmmaker David Cronenberg, draws clear inspiration from tales like "The Metamorphosis," enriching the reader's experience in a truly unique way.

Historia
Robert Sapolsky’s Behave, his now classic account of why humans do good and why they do bad, pointed toward an unsettling conclusion: We may not grasp the precise marriage of nature and nurture that creates the physics and chemistry at the base of human behavior, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Now, in Determined, Sapolsky takes his argument all the way, mounting a brilliant (and in his inimitable way, delightful) full-frontal assault on the pleasant fantasy that there is some separate self telling our biology what to do.

Wow just wow!
Revisado: 10-20-23
Dr. Sapolsky certainly possesses the skill to write a book; that is unquestionable. He consistently presents ideas with exceptional clarity and conciseness. In contrast to his previous book, 'Behave,' this one is more condensed and tailored for a lay audience. His exploration of quantum indeterminacy, complexity science, chaos theory, and their connections to the book's core concepts were my favorite sections, without a doubt. Unlike his previous works may prove to be a challenging read for many and is likely to ignite extensive debate. Personally, I find his work both remarkable and persuasive. I would like to express my gratitude for another outstanding contribution, Dr. Sapolsky.
