I didn't like Willie's using God's name in vain. The story would would have been much better without it.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

A wonderful surprise
Revisado: 01-07-22
I love Sci-fi, So trying this title seemed like a natural choice. Although, I approached it with some intrepidation, because not all sci-fi is equal. However, I was enamored by the characters and the story from the beginning. This one is definitely worth the read/listen. I hope this author as many, many more.

Historia
Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

Taken back in time
Revisado: 06-23-21
Jane Eyre was a wonderful adventure that through it’s narrator, Thandiwe Newton, carries us back to a gentler time, with the language of that day. We see Miss Eyre’s life story with, at times, intense harshness and at other times, beautiful gentility of a day long since passed. I throughly enjoyed this book and will look for others that are similar.

Encouraging!!
Revisado: 10-02-19
I was hit by an 18-wheeler 20 years ago. Everyday, the pain continues to worsen. Even the implanted pain pump that drips morphine continually into my spinal cord has become totally useless against the horrific pain. I was in an electric wheelchair until the pain pump was implanted. It seemed to help the neuropathy that shoots down my legs enough that I was able to exchange my wheelchair for a walker, and even on good days, a cane. But I guess my body has grown accustomed to the medication, & the increased dosages. I finally said “Enough! No more increases!” I must learn to deal with this mind-numbing pain another way! All of these drugs pumping through my body is not good! One causes this problem, so we counteract it with another medication, and so on, and so on...!”
I have decided to try to learn more by listening to Joni’s books, listening to the Scriptures, & learning to lean on God, instead of the medications that do such horrendous things to my body! My body seems to be heading back to the wheelchair, & though I really don’t want that, I will accept it, if that is what God allows. I will learn to lean hard on Him & listening to books like this one helps to encourage me to do just that. Thank you.

Entertaining
Revisado: 08-03-18
Entertaining. I wasn't thrilled with the constant f#*& this and f#%* that. I know it is just the vernacular of the locale, evidently, and isn't that just sad. I am not a prude. I just think a well-educated person has a decent vocabulary, it behooves one to dig a little deeper to use more creative words & not constantly fall back to the laziness of F*%$, F#÷*, F!×#. (Even in the venacular.) Other than that, I enjoyed the creativity.
