Entertaining and thrilling!
Revisado: 11-07-23
I really loved these short stories. They were entertaining, thrilling, pretty horrific, and always ended with a bit of a surprise! This collection was very satisfying and overall a solid read. Each story held its own and didn't get overshadowed by another. That's not always so easy to find when it comes to short story collections. The narrator did an outstanding job with the distinct voice and expression for the array of characters in these eerie tales. I highly recommend this short story collection for on the go reading or listening or to absorb in one swoop! Enjoy!

Adriana is so wonderful at hosting these discussions around such important topics. This last one was so powerful and moving. I have yet to read Isabel Allende's books, but I'm starting right now after listening to Isabel's experiences. I think I would love her writing. Thank you, Adriana, for opening our eyes, ears, and hearts to these rich stories and admirable people you interview!

Edge of your seat thriller!
Revisado: 12-15-22
I received this audible copy in exchange for a review. What an incredible debut by Jennifer Bernardini! It has all the elements of a fun gruesome thriller...innocent victims, a cold blooded psycho rivaling the likes of Kathy Bates as Annie Wilkes, a frustrated detective team, and the perfect dose of psychological terror. I usually listen to audiobooks only in my car and on walks but because it was so fast paced and suspenseful, I continued to listen in bed as well. That speaks volumes about how much I enjoyed this book. Mike O is an incredible narrator that really took on the personas and distinctive voice of each of the characters as the horrors unfold and his narration truly made this book a riveting listening experience. Thanks for the opportunity to review this book!
