While the techniques are sound, the author clumsily deploys them throughout the book for self promotion. She talks constantly about user experience but I found this book to be a slog and every reference to her podcast felt more disruptive than a commercial break in the middle of a song.

As automation/AI expands, non-routine cognitive tasks have become standard. Why hire an employee when I can hire a consultant to build a program and maintain it for a small fee? Because you need someone to think through the problem and interpret the results. This book will help you get there.

Rather than examining how to read a novel, the author shares his opinions on several novels. He expresses his opinions with snark and sarcasm, but the book lacks structure and his ideas lack cohesion. This book is more like a collection of book summaries made into short essays loosely converging around the theme of each chapter. It does not feel he has written this book for you the reader and your edification, but for himself, moralizing about what he values. A 'good' author, in Foster's opinion, is just an author he likes.

The story is so compelling and deeply tragic, but somehow not grimdark. Each of the books in this series are profound in some way, whether it's the intricate worldbuilding or the dramatic characterization. This one really hit me in the feels.

Excellent book for people looking to start in project management or people who just have projects to manage. The concepts and frameworks are easy to understand and apply.

The first book had a good setting. The second had a good plot. This one had neither. These books are character driven, but none of these characters really appeal to me. All of the characters I liked from book1 are gone and we have a new cast vaguely relavent to the original who I found mostly unlikable. It felt like too much tell, not enough show. She gives you the answers instead of letting you figure them out. Chambers is generally a good storyteller, but this was not her best work.

The data is good, but the author's disdain for people with an average IQ drips off the page. He humorously depicts the pundit's malaise, but never really articulates a solution. Reads more like a long article or blog post than a book.
