Very quick read! Great action scenes. Wish there was less sex. But the author writes a hell of an action scene.

Alpha Male On Estrogen

When I read the synopsis I thought it sounded like a great thriller BUT: The protagonist Alpha Male spent as much of the book as I could take talking out his insecure feeling. The thriller took a backseat to simpering whining watered down sex scenes that were less about man on man sex then the Alpha’s feelings. An Alpha being torn over feelings is true fiction. An alpha leaves feelings to their submissives and subordinates. Key prefix there is “sub”. When it came to the unbelievable discussion about a “Safe Word “ I gave up. I’ve read several of this authors works that I really enjoyed, sadly this one wasn’t among them.

Pathetic Protagonist!

Love the majority of Josh Landon’s work but this is one of two so far I’m not fond of. The book had a great premise, but it lack the time to unroll all of the potential elements successfully. I never devolved an attachment of any of the characters. Seem to me Josh was in a hurry to finish a book.

The narrator didn’t help the narrative at all. He tried to use voices that were not well within his rage, therefore, he dropped the ends of words and often seemed muddled, or at least for my ears he often did.

I was disappointed.

Unlike What I’ve come to expect fromJosh Lanyon

The narrator was all wrong for this book. Instead of a masculine cop he sounded more like a Nellie drag queen. Typically Josh Lanyon gives you an interesting story to go along with the romance. This book was more like friction fiction.

Love the story. Wasn’t a Fan of the Narration

John wove wonderfully Poetic story. The narrative however that’s a lot to be desired sometimes it was hard to understand who was talking. And the worst part is at least four times the narrator miss pronounce words that work commonly used in a lot of literature we chose to me he was either too lazy to fix the problem or even worst of all he didn’t understand what the words mean

Well Written and Exciting

Great characters and an interesting take on werewolves. I couldn’t put it down. It had a couple of spots where I thought the expose was too long, but I’m being picky.

Monotonic Narrator

I’ve listened to Burns work before and enjoyed it. And here’s the but! But the narrator of this novel just didn’t work for me. In my option he had the trifecta of bad reading aloud habit. 1. He was monatomic. 2. He clips words. 3. He drops the ends of sentences. I got through the first chapter and returned the book. I’m pretty sure he mispronounced the word “gilt” in the first chapter but he was clipping his words so I’m not positive. If he’s reading the series I won’t be buying it. Sorry Sam. Loved your Fantastic Fluke.

Narrator Was a Misery

The dulcet tones of the Narrator were like fingernails on a chalk board. Ouch!! I could finish the tail. Perhaps I’ll read it.

Two Alpha? No way!

The story started weak with an insecure supposed alpha and went down hill from there. Weak story line and to say the dialog was cheesy is an understatement. I had a hard time even visualizing the sex scenes. I would hate for these two alphas to lead their packs. Both come across as wusses.
