Historia
Everything we now know about the universe - from the behavior of quarks to the birth of galaxies - has come from people who've been willing to ponder the unanswerable. And with the advent of modern science, great minds have turned to testing and experimentation rather than mere thought as a way of grappling with some of the universe's most vexing dilemmas. So what is our latest picture of some of the most inexplicable features of the universe? What still remains to be uncovered and explored by today's scientists?

Some Very Thoughtful Ideas
Revisado: 09-29-24
There were a few novel (to me) questions posed for contemplation in this relatively short listen, and a couple of very intriguing moments. In a world where so many ideas are recycled, I expected nothing new… particularly given how many of Tyson’s podcasts I’ve enjoyed, but I was delighted to be wrong.

Many Layers
Revisado: 09-14-24
A story of much depth and superb craftsmanship that explores as many or as few things as the reader dares to think about.

Historia
Few books have captivated the imagination and won the devotion and praise of readers and critics everywhere as has George R. R. Martin’s monumental epic cycle of high fantasy that began with A Game of Thrones. Now, in A Feast for Crows, Martin delivers the long-awaited fourth book of his landmark series, as a kingdom torn asunder finds itself at last on the brink of peace . . . only to be launched on an even more terrifying course of destruction.

Narration is disappointing after previous books
Revisado: 05-13-17
The book is great, and of course I will listen to the next one. Roy Dotrice is still great, but he switched up character voices in a jarring way in this one.

Pop Nonfiction
Revisado: 03-09-07
I enjoyed this audiobook, but it's rather light and sensationalist in tone - aimed not at historians or people with a genuine interest in history so much as the romance-novel reading crowd. If you enjoy romance paperbacks, you might well enjoy this. If you're looking for serious historical accounts of great women through history, this probably isn't what you're looking for.
