Leading Lady was indeed, a memoir of a most unusual boy
Revisado: 11-19-23
My plan to only read (listen) to one or two chapters a day to stretch out the pleasure of Leading Lady: A Memoir of a Most Unusual Boy, didn't last. The book is so delicious that I found that I couldn't put it down (so to speak) and I have now finished it. What was particularly enjoyable for me is that so many questions that I had about you, your life, Margaret, Aunt Lil, your friends in the theatre, some of whom I had met and worked with over the years myself as it related to travel, or from meeting at your Christmas parties, (Joan Rivers for one,) were all put into context and my questions were answered.
Thank you Charles, and thank you for putting the book on Audible.com. Not only did I get to "read" the book, but I experienced it as a performance by Charles Busch and that added to it immeasurably. Bravo, Bravo

One morning in late 2017, New York Times columnist Frank Bruni woke up with strangely blurred vision. He wondered at first if some goo or gunk had worked its way into his right eye. But this was no fleeting annoyance, no fixable inconvenience.

I saw myself in much of this audiobook
Revisado: 03-20-22
Frank Bruni has written a beautiful book about the highs and lows of his life full of honest reflection of all that led to where he now resides following a stroke and the loss of vision in one eye. His voice like his columns in the New York Times is easy to listen to. I couldn’t put it down for I saw myself in much of what he wrote especially with regard to his eye condition and the eye doctor that we share

Now, in The Luckiest Man, Salter draws on the storied facets of McCain’s early biography as well as the later-in-life political philosophy for which the nation knew and loved him, delivering an intimate and comprehensive account of McCain’s life and philosophy.

Perhaps it was reading this book so close to the 2020 election but I found it to be a bit too detailed for my taste especially during The discussion of how bills make their way through through Congress. I have to confess that I skipped parts of chapters but thoroughly enjoyed the parts of that discussed the senators youth his upbringing his years at school and in the Navy as well as his latter years

A detailed report on the separation of children
Revisado: 11-12-20
Jacob Soboroff gives a detailed report on the subject of the Trump administration‘s separation of children at the border with Mexico. It may be too detailed for some just really want to hear the story without knowing the names of everybody who was involved for that would require a pen and paper to write down all the names as well as listening to the reading of the book that something that is easily done with somebody with vision impairment. Otherwise it can get a little bit confusing. The story is important to be heard and now that we have a new administration soon to take office we need to hope that more so we need to make sure that this policy of separation is a thing of the past

A brave great uncle a miserable nephew
Revisado: 10-11-19
I found this book very tedious to get involved with especially after a glaring error when the author described departing LaGuardia Airport in New York City on the Air France 380 airbus for Paris, when this professional travel agent knows very well that there are no flights to Paris from LaGuardia and an Airbus 380 needs a much longer runway than what is offered at Laguardia. From then on I looked for other mistakes and had a hard time listening to Michael the nephew‘s conversation with his great uncle his vulgarity was for me most unpleasant to listen to

Historia
Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship, the Aurora, begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. At first Lo's stay is nothing but pleasant: The cabins are plush, the dinner parties are sparkling, and the guests are elegant. But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, and gray skies fall.

Inconsistent narration
Revisado: 11-12-16
The woman in cabin 10 was an interesting book however it seemed to drag on for way too long and the narrator when speaking invoices other than the protagonist spoke all of them in the same voice which was not at all on a masculine but feminine as she is and the set was disconcerting to hear men's voices that were very high-pitched for me it took away from the story
