Needless Adultery ruins an interesting story

First character can’t take his eyes off a woman’s breasts and has dirty thoughts.
Second character “It seemed I had reached the kind of stability I had been seeking all my life. I had my family, I had my mistress. I lived in my house with my wife and stayed in my flat with my lover.”

Oh, but he was “devoted” to his wife and “loved her deeply”. So deeply, in fact, that he couldn’t keep from hopping in the sack with his new young assistant.

Why does every story have to involve gratuitous sexual immorality?

“Sex sells,” they say. Really? Tell that to Tolkien, tell it to ‘James S. A. Corey’, tell it to Lewis or Doyle or Lovecraft or Asimov or Zahn or any of the countless authors of renown.

“But they weren’t wealthy in their time.” Some weren’t, most probably weren’t, in fact. But they gave us lasting stories that we have cherished for generations.

Sorry, but most of this pap we get today is going to drift into the dustheaps of literature while the author makes a quick buck off of Amazon by peddling cheap licentiousness.

If you’re tired of all the “suggestive allusions to debauchery” in so many of these “free for prime members” audio books, then skip this one.

It’s Dracula

Having never read out heard the original story this was a delight. A superb performance and while the plot is fairly obvious at many points and the mystery is easy to read it was still fun

Fun, lighthearted second adventure of Agent Hawkin

Forced into another international adventure, everyone’s favorite, drafted FBI agent drinks and stumbles his way through a tangled web of intrigue and manages to extricate himself directly into the arms of the pretty girl in the end.


A fun story and Narrated quite well.

Let’s turn Sherlock into a complete incompetent jerk and Moriarty into the hero.

This is more crap designed to make you hate the old things you used to love thinly veiled in an old time mystery that can be easily figured out from the start. I’ll stick to the old stores I guess...

Why haven't they made this series into a movie trilogy or Television Epic? Better than anything Marvel has put out and much better than The Boys which is along a somewhat similar line.

Brandon Sanderson is truly in a league of his own. My wife and I fell in live with the Stormlight Archive so I decided to try these on a whim and am not disappointed.

I very much enjoyed this book.

I can see how people would be frustrated with it as a stand-alone story, but coupled with the other two this is very good.

it's a fantastic prequel, laying the foundation for OSC's universe. I love how he develops his characters and portrays them in such genuine fashion, really bringing you into the trials and tribulations of a future Earth at war.
