I LOVE Francine Rivers *SPOILERS*
Revisado: 01-08-25
This story was truly moving. I liked that I could read through all stages of their marriage and that they both realized their own faults in the break. It drew me in so much, that I felt her heartbreak and her hesitancy at the end, but I was rooting for them to work it out.

Historia
It used to be that Belly counted the days until summer, until she was back at Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah. But not this year. Not after Susannah got sick again and Conrad stopped caring. Everything that was right and good has fallen apart, leaving Belly wishing summer would never come. But when Jeremiah calls saying Conrad has disappeared, Belly knows what she must do to make things right again. And it can only happen back at the beach house, the three of them together, the way things used to be.

Historia
Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer—they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one wonderful and terrible summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

Historia
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

I loved this book
Revisado: 05-20-24
This dramatized version was very immersive! Though there were some gruesome parts, the story made me think while being easy to understand. For this, I say it is 5 stars. This is a terrifying future to have and it really makes you understand the importance of freedom and standing for what you believe before it’s too late!

This book is so eye opening!!
Revisado: 02-09-24
This book is amazing and the stories are inspiring! Someone said that they don’t think that this book is for Gen Z because they don’t have low expectations for themselves. I disagree. I believe that if you look at people now vs 100 years ago, the expectations for teens have dramatically decreased. Actually, as they said in the book, 100 years ago there were no such thing as “teens”, there were children and adults. And if you think about it, teenagers were getting married and starting their adult lives way earlier back then. Now, a lot of adults still live with their parents and are scared to get a job and move out. And in the teenage years, we all just go to school and maybe work, but we don’t have any huge responsibilities. Our expectations for ourselves have become so low. Obviously some have high expectations and have a dream to become something big, but a lot of us are just going through the motions and are scared of growing up.
Before reading this, I was in a huge slump. I didn’t want to do my school work, I didn’t want to clean my room, I wasn’t motivated to work in my church (even with the photography team that I’m on) and no one really expected me to. My mom even said that I’m in college now, I’m responsible for motivating myself enough to do the work that needs to be done. After reading this, it really put things into perspective. I feel like I need to be doing more for my church. I’ve been on top of my school work this week. I’m feeling better than ever. And I know I won’t have this motivation forever but I’m gonna keep working until I reach my goals.
