Historia
Born in Leipzig, Germany, into a Jewish family, Eddie Jaku was a teenager when his world was turned upside-down. On November 9, 1938, during the terrifying violence of Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass, Eddie was beaten by SS thugs, arrested, and sent to a concentration camp with thousands of other Jews across Germany. Every day of the next seven years of his life, Eddie faced unimaginable horrors in Buchenwald, Auschwitz, and finally on a forced death march during the Third Reich’s final days.

Uplifting as much as a holocaust story can be
Revisado: 11-16-24
I have read many, many holocaust stories. I have never left a review in spite of having over 700 titles in my library. I absolutely loved this one. Amazing man

Historia
Between 1950 and 1970, the Vatican and the American Catholic Church sent nearly four thousand Italian children to the United States for adoption into “good” Catholic homes. With the religious stigma of unwed motherhood turning families against daughters and a Church and State wanting “illegitimate” children sent abroad, mothers were lied to, given forms to sign that they didn’t understand, or even told their baby had died, all to further supply this international adoption pipeline.

A little known story of the Italian baby adoption subject

Why did it have to get political. Would have been a 5 star read if not for the infiltration of the abortion opinion on the part of the author toward the end of a very informative and interesting subject.

Worst narration ever.
Revisado: 11-18-23
Could not finish. This narrator has the voice of a child. Shrill, piercing, and unlistenable
