I loved this book, great info for those of us who are trying to remain healthy after 50 and stay away from harmful drugs most Dr’s can’t wait to prescribe. I also recommend Dr. Berry’s fury book “Lies my Dr. told me” I actually think that is a better first book to read.

I enjoyed much of this book but I had a hard time trusting what Dr.Li recommended. He seems to be a member of the religion of plant based food. He believes red meat should be avoided even though it is the most nutrient food on the planet. He also still believes dietary cholesterol has a negative affect on serum cholesterol. He also worms agents salt and saturated fats and recommends industrial seed oils as healthy. This kind of old outdated unproven science is dangerous. If you still belief any of these ideas, Let me recommend “The big fat surprise” by Nina Teicholz,“, “The great cholesterol myth” by Dr. Stephen Sinatra and “The salt Fix” by Dr. James Dinicolantonio. Real science with real studies to back them!

This book is full of non-scientific opinion, practically religious assertions about nutrition. At times it sounds scientific until you go back and actually look at the studies sited, they are all observational studies and in every case they come to the wrong conclusion. If you’re vegan or vegetarian and want a book to make you feel good about your decision, this is fine. However if you want a book that contains real science about nutrition that will make you healthy and keep you healthy to live long, I recommend: The big fat surprise, Why we get fat, The obesity code, The case against sugar.

I like Jillian Michaels as a person, I loved her radio show on KFI radio on Sundays. I think she has a good heart and truly wants to help people become healthy, the problem is she has outdated bad and untrue ideas about nutrition. This is a book that should be avoided in my opinion.

This is a very short book with very little to no commentary. The writer stated goal is to get right to the point and she does. She goes through each nutrients, tells you what it’s for and the side effects could be for being deficient and where the good sources are to get them. The information was good I just would’ve preferred a bit more detail. I think this book is good as a quick reference at the end of the day I’m still looking for another book on nutrients.

Not a self improvement book but a religious book

When I listened to the preview this book seemed to be a self improvement book, as the book gets going he starts reading from the bible and on and on. For some this may be ok but for me it was a real waist of time.
