Getting lost is where our story begins. Not only did we get lost and spin off the road, we were also stalked by a moose, and our pet skunk, Cooper, darted out, ready to tackle said moose into oblivion. Fate, however, had different plans in the form of a flannel wearing knight named Arlo. I get the feeling this big, grumpy bear is all soft edges on the inside.

This was a fun read(listen). It had major Gilmore Girls vibes with the mother/daughter bond. I love the snarky banter between Wren and Arlo. I loved the pet skunk. and the fun names of characters. I enjoyed Wren being able to learn to love after all the trauma she's been through. I love that the characters are so real and relatable I don't typically read this style of book with slight mythical elements. but I'm glad I did. it was definitely worth the read. the narrator did an awesome job bringing it to life. There were a couple places where she needed to use a southern accent, I thought she did an excellent job with that and I'm from the south surrounded by authentic southern accents.

Relatable characters

Love this story and narration. I want to call it a second chance romance but I'm not sure if I'm using that term correctly. Ethan and Valerie give love a second chance. they become good friends while planning their friends' wedding and fall in love with each other during the process. throughout the story they both overcome fear and heartache. it's short and sweet and everything you want in a fairytale romance with a little more depth. the narrator did a beautiful job bringing these wonderful characters to life.
