Historia
Long ago, the wars of the ancient Evil ruined the world. In peaceful Shady Vale, half-elfin Shea Ohmsford knows little of such troubles. But the supposedly dead Warlock Lord is plotting to destroy everything in his wake. The sole weapon against this Power of Darkness is the Sword of Shannara, which can be used only by a true heir of Shannara. On Shea, last of the bloodline, rests the hope of all the races.

The performance
Revisado: 11-13-24
I liked the story and the world. I can tell that it is the first book he wrote, but it is still good and I will listen to the rest of the series.

Historia
Minalan the Spellmonger has come a long way since he woke up to a goblin invasion almost a decade ago. Since then, he has built cities and mighty armies, invented new enchantments, and pioneered entirely new fields of magic. Now that the Witch Queen of Darkfaller has taken over one of the most powerful castles in the center of the kingdom, he has to marshal all his resources—political, military, and arcane—to try to drive her from the strategic and symbolically important stronghold.

Historia
"Three knives were buried up to their brass cross guards in the man's chest. Richard recognized the knife handles. All three were the style carried by the men of the First File. He looked from those blades that should have killed the big man, up to his face. That was when he realized the true horror of the situation, and the reason for the unbearable stench of death." Sequel to the #1 New York Times best seller The Omen Machine.

I have loved these stories for years.
Revisado: 02-19-17
after the jagong story line wrapped up, it is like Terry goodkind decided all his characters needed to suddenly be stupid. there is so much explanation to simple things that the characters just seem dumb. I just listened to a line that said, "the people from beyond that wall aren't like us. they are a kind of cannibal. she frowned in confusion. a kind of cannibal? what do you mean? how can there be different kinds? they eat living people...." this happens often. simple things are questioned with incredulity and then when the simple explanation is spelled out, they are like, oh. yeah.
it has happened with Richard and Sammi several times. it is infuriating. he is not a stupid man. why write him like this now?
I started reading this series many many years ago. maybe I was young and it was always written this way. but this is ridiculous.

Historia
An accident leads to the discovery of a mysterious machine that has rested hidden deep underground for countless millennia. The machine awakens to begin issuing a series of increasingly alarming, if minor, omens. The omens turn out to be astonishingly accurate, and ever more ominous. As Zedd tries to figure out how to destroy the sinister device, the machine issues a cataclysmic omen involving Richard and Kahlan, foretelling an impending event beyond anyone’s ability to stop. As catastrophe approaches, the machine then reveals that it is within its power to withdraw the omen....

it seems like the characters are getting dumber
Revisado: 02-11-17
man. this story could have been great. there were several moments though when the characters just seemed dumb. Zed is not a dumb old man, and when he apparently doesnt understand simple things it makes me so upset. nicci too. they were just really dumbed down in this story.
