I adored the way this tale unfolded and how the author conveyed the deep and complex love stories within. The narration is brilliant, and the Christmas twist makes it all the more heartwarming.

Maggie’s message in The Elevated EA is open-hearted and powerful. Her honed communication skills are reflected in this powerful guide. It is an intimate portrait of her personal journey and a poignant reminder of all the possibilities available to us if we can dig deep and believe in our own capabilities. This book is chock full of excellent resources for every level of Assistant. I recommend it to those just starting to explore the role, those paralyzed in their current position, or, like me, those looking to build up their confidence and take the next step.

Jeremy provides an intelligent and holistic guide for administrative professionals looking to "level up" and create more time in their lives and those they support. Perfectly paced and not too time-consuming, this is a logical and well-organized strategic reference guide with external links supporting his solutions and suggestions. In other words, this is a hands-on manual for making improvements right now! I highly recommend it if you feel you cannot 'get ahead' of your long list of responsibilities or feel stagnant and hopeless in your current role, edging toward 'burn-out.' Both the Audio and Kindle versions are valuable resources in my library.

Disappointed

The story is 4* while the audible version is more like 3*. I really like Callie Dalton but something about her narration on this one didn’t work. However, the real failing in this version is the missing Epilogue. It is in the KU version, so I was really surprised to finding it not included here. It does an excellent job of tying up the loose ends and introducing the next JB book.

Narration that makes you run for the hills

Could not take more than 30 minutes of this nonsense. When I am able to get Beatrice Pendergast's voice out of my brain, I will give the physical book a try in light of the reviews.

Another fabulous installment

I really enjoy this author and this series. They are unique and highly enjoyable. A very nice break from mainstream historical romance/fiction. The narration is excellent.

Give this author a Cwtch!

I think I have fallen hard for this author and Personally, I would love to give her a big ole' cwtch! The heroines in the first 2 books of this series have really unique characters & voices. A rare thing for fictional characters set in this time and among actual people/events. It feels like a real homage to the spirit of Welsh women. The historical period is well researched and made a vital part of the conflicts in the story. (Audible) Nicholas Boulton's narration is stellar, as always - his talent shines through. Looking forward to book #3 when the time comes.

Beautiful story/Welsh language bloodbath

Would you consider the audio edition of Serpent to be better than the print version?

Not really. This is a good book, love all things Welsh and I was really looking forward to Penelope's story which provided great fun. However, what is with the time errors. Did I miss some weird time travel element, whereby her husband has been gone for 3 weeks but everyone keeps telling her she can leave him because they have only been married a week? Still scratching my head over some very basic errors repeating themselves.

(Audible version) Whilst this narrator is talented with a variety of English accents and his female voices are tolerable at best ... his effort at Welsh was basically an unrelenting slaughter of the language. Very basic words and town names are repeatedly incorrect and it is like nails on a chalkboard for someone who loves the dulcet tones of the accent. How can you pronounce Cymru wrong in a book based in Wales. I mean if Wales is going to be the predominant location as well as the native land of so many characters, please find someone with even a basic knowledge of the language like Charlotte Strevens of The Wild Hunt (trilogy by Elizabeth Chadwick).

Such a let down

So sad. I love Paula Quinn's books and had such high hopes for a new setting in her novels. Maybe the book is better but this was so cheesy. I was on a 15 hour flight listening to this and was rolling my eyes the whole time. So predictable.
