Interesting concept, but it's everythint you'd expect from a dungeon crawler. leveling, sweet skills, boss fights, dinosaurs and a talking cat. The narration truly sells this book. 10/10 entertaining.

EVERY. SINGLE. STORY. *thunderous applause*

I love the Scythe trilogy, and Gleanings has been a surprise dessert at the end of an already luscious three course meal. Every damn story in this collection is just as good, if not better than the last. I found myself not wanting to view how much was left, foolishly hoping it would never end. But it did, and I am satisfied *lifts napkin and dabs at the corners of their mouth*. Do you know what you have done Mr. Shusterman? Before Gleanings I wanted a sequel, but now I NEED another 3 books at least. Please and thank you.

a great sequel with a satisfying ending.

if you enjoyed RP1 you'll definitely enjoy this one. An excellent sequel with calls to everything you loved about the original. Wil Wheaton is fantastic! Can't say i'd rather have had anyone else read it, apart from maybe Stephen Fry whose reading of Harry Potter is LEGENDARY!

A scifi interpretation of a future not so far off

i am really into the VR narrative and have read several scifi's on the topic. Taylor Cole is an excellent storyteller and if you read the title and said to yourself, "hmm this sounds interesting", it is what it says it is and i whole heartedly believe you will enjoy it :)

great start to a new rpg lit series.

I've read quite a few "angsty teenager gets more than absorbed in his gaming" books. what can i say? this was a great start to the new series by AM Macdonald. If you like rpg lit, it is what it says it is, and Macdonald does a good job of putting an interesting new twist on the genre.

The Narrator is awful, but the story isn't

loved it! I'm a sucker for vr scifi, be it "ready player one" or "sword art online". like i said, the narrator was god awful, sounding too much like a robot, which is fine when he is speaking on behalf of robots. which is very little. but the story was so good it totally makes up for this.. i really hope to other books have a different narrator.

the story lacked. well performed and told.

it was a bit of a struggle to finish this one due to the method of retelling the story through past journal entries. it lacked the action i was hoping for. the idea is entertaining, and though lacking, I'm left curious enough to consider future sequels.
