The main characters actions are the definition of what main characters do in horror stories but it's better than the newer releases.

After killing a bunch of cops and taking one hostage, the cops dont even try to arrest her. They accidentally bumble there way into her after she goes back to her appartment and chills there for awhile. The neighbor calls the police. The cops didnt monitor her place after they knew she was a suspect. That kind of killed it for me.

if you like a sob story and the main character being iirrational and annoying this one's for you. I wanted the "bad guy" to win.

literally nothing to do with the previous book. this one is about lesbian warriors fighting off the brutality of man.

A queen killed her baby because her husband was killing civilians. she smuggled her baby because she was such a strong women. I'm sorry but smuggling a baby in the crib is not strong.

best full Horror novel ive listened to in forever.

I have a lot of horror novels and this is the best one I've listened to in awhile. I like this authors rhythm and it was lovely to have the main character not be a writer.

yes I understand the mother is a single parent and the father was a a-hole, but the mother explains how she's not able to afford anything for her kid every other page. I guess she's a good mom for buying him a sundae instead of washing clothes? I understand that the mother worries about any purchase she makes but it gets annoying after the 12th time explaining it. She can only buy ground beef, uses quarters to buy a sundae, rides the bus, lets her kid eat the last pancake yet she had 3 already...I guess this can become a new horror subgenre, single parent/covid. If you want to experience what single parents dealt with during covid this book is for you.

the Ritual is still my favorite horror book. live this dudes writing and the antagonists feel real. thanks for the book sir

i bet every page in this book has some time of rape talk in it. I can't handle hearing about rape and this one loves talking about swxual assault. I don't remember this in the previous books but it's been awhile.
