Coreene has done it again. Fury of Surrender is an amazing chapter in the Dragonfury series. This time we get to learn about Forge, our favorites Scottiash Nightfury and ooooooooo boy does he not disappoint. Your heary aches for the struggles he is working through and you can't help but root for him.

The fenale lead, Hope, is wonderful and next to Angela and JJ, she's become one of my favorites. Her spine is wonderful and you're cheering for her the whole time. You can't help but get wrapped up in her background as well too.

And a side note.... There is a lot of emotion and feelings wrapped around Ivar and once again Coreene has me wanting and cheering for him more and more.

The book, as all her previous ones do, sucks you in and has you getting lost in the story and wishing that you were in Seattle and could find a dragon of your own.

My only reason for giving 4 stars on this is because the narrator this time isn't Benjamin Darcie, who I've come to connect with the boys through. The new narartor is good but all the females sound pretty much the same but his Scottish brogue for Forge is really awesome!

So I know there have been a lot people who have said this was a bad book, but I disagree. I think it's another fantastic book that blends romance with drama and suspense. I also didn't have any issues with Xander getting snippy back at her because I understood why he was doing it. He was snapping her out of the zone she was in. It made sense. The narrator was just fine. If you're a Nora fan.... then you'll love it. If you aren't normally a Nora fan , then you probably won't. As a Nora fan, I highly recommend it!

Despite what some of the reviews below say, I think this was a very good book in a new trilogy. I see a lot of reviews from people that don't even seem to be Nora Roberts fans so not sure why they are listening and reviewing books. This is a great start to her new series. I really like that she is bringing some new 'character types' into her world and it's fun reading about them and seeing how they all blend in.

I also really enjoy us exploring a whole new place in the world with her. It's going to have mystery and battles, love and death, friends and enemies...just like all her books. These things are staples in a Nora book. I think it's a nice change to move into a series that is a bit less aggressive with the sex and violence. I read all of them but bringing in the variety helps me remember that it's nice to read different types of romance books.

If you have liked Nora before - you will like these books too. It's a great start to what I think will be a good series. There are some nice changes from her other ones that she brings in that I think you will notice.

I cannot express the amount of love I have for this book. The fact that it's about Venom (my personal favorite Nightfury) is just a bonus on this.

I will say this first though - I was disappointed to see that Benjamin L Darcie wasn't the narrator for this book, I already had the voices lined up in my head but Cole Ferguson did a really good job.

I loved how Coreene doesn't leave the friction that ended up rising up between Wick and Venom of the last book. It's good to see that it gets address and worked out on Venom's side and that made me REALLY happy.

Hearing more background about Venom was just...so much is explained and makes sense and I ended up sitting there going, 'Ahhhhhhhhhhh. Okay.'

Evelyn, the female lead in this book is great. She makes sense and works in a lot of different ways. I love that she has spine because with Venom...it's needed. I also love thought that while all this chaos is happening in the world around them, you get to see these two fighting through the "toxins" around them and they just fit.

The action is of course on point, as always....and I'm not going to lie - this book just makes my love of for the bad guy rise up a little more. I feel like we're getting sucked in more and more to the European connections and the original Scottish Dragons and I can't wait to see more of them.

As always, you read all the books on their own but honestly - read them in order. And as always, Coreene leaves the reader wishing they could just pick the next one in the series, as soon as you finish this one.

Another great addition to the grim series. I'm hoping to get more Lorian and the Queen in the next book but wow, this one was great. I loved the story and when I got to the end found that I wasn't quite ready to leave the world behind. I love the plot that is
slowly starting to pop up and I'm looking forward to seeing where it ends up!

Okay, let's start with the Narration - FABULOUS. This man as Mac's voice down pat. So what I want to hear and is spot on. I can give a little on the female voices cause the guys voices are dead on. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

The story. Mac's story has been one I've been waiting for (okay, I want all the guys since I've fallen in love with them in Book 1) and I wasn't disappointed. I loved how it introduced his father and the story with him and Tania is just beautiful. I love that her attitude is epic and doesn't fail. I also loved the hidden story line with her sister and I can't wait to see how that plays out.

Now, yes....I will say that - aside from our lovely cop in book 2, the female leads suffer from a bit of victim-itise BUT I was expecting that in this book considering that Tania is suppose to be Myst's best friend, who yes by the way - I still loathe. I really have high hopes for the next female leads in the future books.

If you've been debating on this series, I'd say go for it. Couple of things to keep in mind:

1. Female leads in Book 1 & Book 2 - need to get smacked and will drive you insane. Focus on the boys..they'll make up for it.

2. There is no time gaps in her book endings and start ups. Where one book ends, the next picks right up. It's nice.

3. The world of the dragons can be a little off at times but eventually it evens out and is coming together nicely.

4. Expecting BDB? Not gonna find it here. Dragons. No Vamps. Not a one to be found. Leave your BDB comparison's at the door, honestly.

Overall I was really happy with the book and I'm highly anticipating Book 4.

This is a very quick read compared to the other books I normally download but don't let that deter you. It's a funny, cute and quick romance book. Yes, some parts were predictable but let's be honest, ALL romance books have predictable parts. I laughed out loud at some parts and smirked at other. The banter between the two leads was really well done and I'm looking forward to the next book, that I'm assuming will be Maggie.

If you want a great quick beach read or something to listen to while on a flight....I recommend taking a look at this.

Where does The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the top ten, hands down. This book was wonderful. I had to listen to it everywhere. Such a wonderful introduction to a series about brothers that I can't WAIT to learn more about.

What does Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

For a while here I've had such bad experiences with narrators and was disappointed time and time again. Angela Dawe is wonderful for this series and I'm THRILLED to see that they kept her to read for the whole thing. Her accents and the changes in her voice are perfect and just made the experience that much more wonderful.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Ian and Beth are in his bedroom @ the Duke's house and she shoots straight up off the bed (don't want to reveal toooo much), That scene....was so touching and emotional, and Angela's voice bring life to the characters just made it all the more so.

Any additional comments?

If you're like and tend to shy away from 'historical' romances...this book...gave me faith in that genre again. I had to go out and buy the 2nd one right away and I allowed myself to even look at more books that are similar like this....This series restored my faith in a genre that I had given up hope on.

Another Winner by Larissa Ione

What is there NOT to love about the book, okay the narrator but I'm going to talk about the book first. The story is AMAZING. I love, love, love this story and I thought it was going to be hard as hell to compete with Ares (cause I'm comparing it to the other male of the group that has been published so far) but Than sooooo holds up. He is sexy and aggressive and hot and demanding and pretty much all together perfect.

I wanted to hate Regan for what she did, I really did but I found myself really, really liking her. That is one of the things that Larissa is amazing at...taking a character that we should all hate and twisting it so that we end up rooting and cheering for them. I LOVED the twist at the end of the book and was so surprised cause that wasn't even anything that I saw coming.

And weaving in the folks from UG is perfect. I love seeing the brothers coming into the stories.

Okay now, for the narration. Really???? REALLY??? What were you thinking? What a horrible Horrible choice for narrator. They should have stuck with Hillary Huber from the other books cause she is the best with the voices.

If you can just move past the voice and listen to the story, it's amazing. I highly recommend this and I can't wait for Reseph's book.

This is the first and my favorite book by Jacquelyn Frank. It's the first introduction to the Nightwalkers and I fell just a little bit in love with Jacob. He is the wonderful and stoic soldier that is protecting his people with the job he has: Enforcer. Because of a simple shove from Fate he meets Isabella and together they make one dynamic pairing.
I love how they interact in the story and the arguments that always seem to happen between them.

Jacob's book also introduces us to the rest of the Nightwalkers and their world and soon I found that I didn't want to leave. The story happening around them, sucks you in so much that when the book ended I went back and bought the rest of the books in the series without a second thought.

Never have a read a series so unique and different and spellbinding. Jacquelyn Frank has become one of my favorite and go to writers now.
