Historia
On a hot August night, Lt. Eve Dallas and her husband, Roarke, speed through the streets of Manhattan to the Down and Dirty club, where a joyful, boisterous pre-wedding girls’ night out has turned into a murder scene. One of the brides lies in a pool of blood, garroted in a private room where she was preparing a surprise for her fiancée—two scrimped and saved-for tickets to Hawaii. Despite the dozens of people present, useful witnesses are hard to come by. It all brings back some bad memories for Eve.

Always a tight story, brilliant mind of the Eve/Peabody duo, suspenseful with a dash of humor. Love seeing the friendships of the other characters evolve. Narration is also top notch as usual

Historia
For the reasonable price of $1, Natalie Malone just bought herself an abandoned villa on the Amalfi Coast. With a detailed spreadsheet and an ancient key, she's arrived in Italy ready to renovate—and with only six months to do it. Which seemed reasonable until architect Pietro Indelicato began critically watching her every move. From the sweeping ocean views to the scent of the lemon trees, there's nothing Pietro loves more than his hometown. And after seeing too many botched jobs and garish design choices, he's done watching from the sidelines.

Liked the story but have to agree on the narration
Revisado: 09-23-23
I liked the story of a woman who goes to Italy on her own to restore a villa and meets other expats who are also in a restoration program. They embody the phrase, “ it takes a village.” I liked the characters and the made up town. I like the strength, independence and perseverance of the main character. I liked the “hero” who really tried to be a hero for his woman and the town. The tradition with the lemons was sweet.
As to the narration, her cadence and inflection was off. I found it disturbing and switched back and forth from reading the story to audible. For example, and actual sentence from the story: “These are things Natalie could do herself.” was read:
“These… are things… Natalie… could do… herself.”
My advice is to get the book and read it instead of the audible version; it was a cute story.

Historia
Lt. Eve Dallas is just home from a long overdue vacation when she responds to a call of an unattended death. The victim is Martin Greenleaf, retired Internal Affairs Captain. At first glance, the scene appears to be suicide, but the closer Eve examines the body, the more suspicious she becomes. An unlocked open window, a loving wife and family, a too-perfect suicide note—Eve's gut says it's a homicide. After all, Greenleaf put a lot of dirty cops away during his forty-seven years in Internal Affairs. It could very well be payback—and she will not rest until the case is closed.

Worth the wait
Revisado: 09-19-23
I’m always looking to see when another In Death book will be published. I love the stories, the intrigue; I especially love these characters. I feel like I have grown with them although days have passed in their world and decades in ours. I think there are still on 2056 and I have been reading about them for years!
Love to see Eve evolve and expand her family, friends, and the bullpen grow as well.
As always, love the narrator. She does such a good job voicing these characters.

The problem with lying about having a super weapon is that the bad guys might believe they have nothing to lose by doing something stupid that both sides will regret. Or, they might just call your bluff. Either way, the Merry Band of Pirates need a plan to deal with the Fallout.

Revisado: 07-09-23
Lucky and the Marines are at it again. Lots of fast paced action, fighting aliens and cyborgs, humor, and family. These Marines are a family - although disfunctional. Great addition to the series.
As always, the narration was great.

When Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed locked eyes for the first time, they were already engaged. They had no idea what to expect, having fallen in love across the divider of their pods on the daring Netflix reality show Love Is Blind. While they never expected to find their other half through this experiment, Lauren and Cameron emerged proof of the hypothesis that love is blind. Now, they’ll take us back to the origins of their whirlwind romance to tell their definitive story.

Uplifting
Revisado: 05-05-23
Loved the book. I am late to the Love is Blind franchise (I think I watched them all this year). From the beginning I was enthralled with the openness and realism this couple displayed. That carried through to this book. They invited the public into their lives and did a great job. Some of the lists were a bit …. preachy I guess … but they were well meaning and I agreed with them.
Still rooting for this couple after 4 seasons and other countries. Glad they are doing well, prioritizing each o to we and family, and are successful.
As to the audiobook it was a treat to have it read by the authors. They did a great job on narration as well; it made the story more impactful to hear it in their voices.

Great story
Revisado: 04-13-23
I purchased the Audible boxed set books 1-4. It had a lot of action, intrigue, good storyline. I’m glad that the end of book 4 wasn’t depressing. After reading or listening to all 4 books back-to-back, I was beginning to feel hopeless. Would I read it again? Yes.

Historia
The Merry Band of Pirates offered the bad guys a ceasefire. We won’t mess with them, if they don’t mess with us. Easy, right? No. The aliens chose to do things the hard way. So, the Pirates are racing around the galaxy to clean up the threat to Earth. The infant UN Navy has their own mission with the Alien Legion: Get humanity some allies in the fight. And the Ethics & Compliance Office might have to do something...ethical. Unless they can find a way around it.

What will the Merry Band of Pirates encounter next?
Revisado: 02-16-23
I admit that there was some “fluff” or jokes that went on a bit long, but I really enjoy the series. It is my favorite space opera.
I enjoy Joe Bishop, arrogant Skippy, and the Merry Band of Pirates. I wasn’t sure how they were going to get out of the bind they are in with the senior species but I guess we will truly find out in the next installment. There was a cliffhanger for some of the characters. I, like many readers/listeners, read for entertainment. I want Earth to either win or come out with few losses. This crew must be exhausted; I’m glad the last book allowed them R&R time.
This book was good, not stellar but I am hooked on this series. I read them all within a few months. I like established series that I can binge.
Keep them coming

Historia
August 1939: London is dismal under the weight of impending war with Germany as Hitler’s forces continue to sweep across Europe. Into this uncertain maelstrom steps Grace Bennett, young and ready for a fresh start in the bustling city streets she’s always dreamed of - and miles away from her troubled past in the countryside. With aspirations of working at a department store, Grace never imagined she’d wind up employed at Primrose Hill, an offbeat bookshop nestled in the heart of the city - after all, she’s never been much of a reader.

Nice surprise read
Revisado: 02-12-23
I got this audiobook on sale and was very reluctant to listen to a war story. Finally I started listening and am very glad for it.
As an avid reader, or I guess listener of books, I lived the story of community surrounding this bookshop and how it made and saved a community of people from the terror and grief of war. Great, uplifting story.
The narrator was also very good with voicing the story and the many characters.

Revisado: 01-21-23
I didn’t start this series until late 2021 and I have read them back to back. This one was a departure in that the merry band of pirates is missing members. Great story. Great series. I have already purchased the next in series.
Thanks for the author’s note at the end.
