I was hoping for insights into the white house press office and what this actually is, is a crappy “how-to” book full of ridiculous and almost comically impractical advice and lectures into how to communicate.

Terrible narration

The narration really put me off, it was too forced and acted. The faux indignation and the ups and downs were very annoying and I almost gave up several times.

Absolutely brilliant - couldn’t stop listening

A brilliant book with excellent narration. It reveals a lot about the super prime property market in London, which is very interesting, but I really appreciated the inner life of the characters and the goodness of the narrator. Wonderful book.

Pointless

For some reason, it starts with King George VI and speeds down until current days without really adding anything new. The only new information it has to add is regarding recent events and the youngest generation of royals. I suppose the very flimsy new bits of information it has on this would not fill a book so the author goes back 3 generations in a poorly told, tragically boring, summarized and glossed over version of events. A pointless book.

Terrible, terrible narration

Fantastic story, very well written, kind of book you can’t put away. Unfortunately, the performance is terrible. The narrator makes all sorts of ridiculous affectations and intonations and the nasal quality it attributes to many characters it’s also very unpleasant.

Confusing, forced and full of cliches

The narration is very confusing because they insist on using ‘we’ (a not so subtle reference to women’s solidarity), hard to follow who’s saying what. The story in itself is a bit non-sensical but the worst of it all is the constant cliches abou women, quite annoying. This pseudo-feminist odyssey is just a bad book trying to jump on a bandwagon.

Gripping from the first to the last minute!

A great story of women in law, it truly reflects the nature of the struggle between wanting to fit in ok one side and being true to oneself on the other. Not only that is stylish and just a great story. A bit exaggerated at times and the ending is somewhat rushed and very naïve but it is, after all, fiction. Also, great narration!

Unbearably preachy

This pseudo-mystical thriller is unbearably preachy with its constant reminders about divine light, being touched by God and glowing lights. The thriller bits (which, in fairness, are not bad) are just a flimsy excuse to lecture readers and listeners about kindness and faith.

Bad performance

The narrator is tiresome and re interprets characters. All female characters have the same intonation when speaking and the same vocal ticks.
