should of stayed a stand alone novel

fun but not great by any means. No character consistency should have been much longer feels like he tried to wrap up the story the last half of the book. Also for God sakes we don't need that much Prince.

Good but predictable
Revisado: 06-15-18
Great story and amazing narration but is predictable from about the halfway mark you know exactly what is going to happen and there are no real surprise from that point on so basically since it’s a 30 hour book You have 15 hours to wrap the story up you figured out your head in two minutes without anysurprises

Historia
The survivors have come to settle in the mountains of Wyoming, fighting day in and day out to establish a home for themselves in a near-empty world. Things are good at first; scavenging is a workable, short-term solution that seems to be providing all they need. But they know that it’s only a matter of time before the food runs out. They need to scramble to find a sustainable solution before the clock stops, and for a little handful of people up in the mountains, the odds don’t seem very favorable.

But he has become embroiled in a struggle beyond any dream he could have had. The Narthani are a militant society intent on subjugating the Caedelli, the people he's come to identify with. Unwittingly, the Narthani themselves are creating an opponent unlike any they have ever faced, an enemy beyond their conceptions.

New Favorite Series
Revisado: 02-20-18
What made the experience of listening to Heavier Than a Mountain the most enjoyable?
Great story with an original approach. The narration is top notch.Jonathan Davis is the best narrator I have ever had the pleasure of listening too. I only wish he did more than mostly Star Wars novel (not that I don't love Star Wars just can't get into the books). The story is not a completely new concept but the way the Author tells it and establishing multiple characters that could stand on their own is the best I have ever read. I became just as involved with the daily interactions of the characters as I did with the overall story arc. I actually enjoyed them more and these interaction are more prevalent in the earlier novels as this one had to wrap up a large story.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Carnigan, because of the comical relief and the way his character developed but stayed true to how he was originally portrayed.
Which character – as performed by Jonathan Davis – was your favorite?
Yosef
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book has you worried for characters at one point than laughing aloud the next.
Any additional comments?
Must read/listen. There are maps available from the authors web page also and he is very personable if you reach out to him.

Great Follow up
Revisado: 01-02-18
If you could sum up The Pen and the Sword in three words, what would they be?
Even if you are not sure you would be into sci fi this series would be a great introduction. The author does a great job of making the main character seem so real that you are just as interested in his day to day tasks and thoughts as you are of major plot points. I will read anything Mr. Thorensen writes after reading and listening to this series. He aslo hit a home run with his narrator...what an amazing job.
What did you like best about this story?
How even the small aspects of the Yozeph Colsco are so interesting that you can't put the book down or stop listening.
Which scene was your favorite?
cant pick just one
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Best Movie of All time ever for sure....lol

Historia
Our universe is ruled by physics, and faster-than-light travel is not possible - until the discovery of The Flow, an extradimensional field we can access at certain points in space-time that transports us to other worlds, around other stars. Humanity flows away from Earth, into space, and in time forgets our home world and creates a new empire, the Interdependency, whose ethos requires that no one human outpost can survive without the others. It's a hedge against interstellar war - and a system of control for the rulers of the empire.

Original ideas in a space opera
Revisado: 08-04-17
If you could sum up The Collapsing Empire in three words, what would they be?
original, abrupt ending
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I know the point of cliffhangers but I feel the story was just getting interesting when it ends.
Have you listened to any of Wil Wheaton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes and he is the reason I listened to this book. An amazing performance and a decent story
Any additional comments?
The concept of this universe is interesting with some really cool ideas I haven't heard before in a sci fi book. I dont feel it reached it full potential but I will listen to the next in the series. Wil Wheaton did an outstanding job narrating.

Historia
Cassie Forrest isn't surprised to learn that the day she’s decided to get her life together is also the day the world ends. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents died: she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too.

Character centered zombie survival series
Revisado: 08-04-17
If you could sum up Until the End of the World in three words, what would they be?
emotional survival engaging
What did you like best about this story?
I love how this whole series is character based and makes you extremely attached to the different people and their struggles to survive. It reminds of a Joss Whedon show like Buffy The Vampire Slayer where there is a core group of people trying to survive and fight a horrific nightmare but the focus is on the interactions and relationships of the group more than your average zombie survival tale. I will be a fan of Sarah Lyons Flemming for life.
What about Julia Whelan’s performance did you like?
I usually have trouble with female narrators keeping my attention. I'm not trying to make any sexist comments here at all but personally I have found many of them have trouble keeping my attention but Julia Whelans performance was outstanding and brought these characters to life.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Every emotion possible comes out in this series

Historia
Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.
