This was a beautifully written book and the story was engaging, I couldn’t put it down. The flip between time frames wasn’t confusing and had a good twist. Definitely a must read!

This book was long but kept my interest the whole time, the story was engaging. My only complaint was the narrators voice on a few of the characters was a bit grating but it may have just been me. Tough subject at times but well written.

Historia
When Anna Hartley’s husband, Henry, calls her with a terrible, guilty confession, she can’t believe what she hears. It has to be a bad joke—the mild, predictable artist she married would never hurt a fly, let alone commit murder. But her confusion turns to horror when police find his body washed up on the banks of the Rio Grande.

Historia
It should be the perfect opportunity: a manor house available rent free in exchange for a bit of housesitting. But when Cass and James dig deeper, they find the place has been abandoned since a robbery left almost all the inhabitants dead almost thirty years ago. But they’ve got to save for a deposit somehow, so they move in, and things quickly take a strange turn. Objects disappear and turn up in odd places, the clock always stops at the same time, and the house is oppressive yet strangely familiar. Could it just be bad memories, or are the house’s secrets a little closer to home?

Classic Stephen King
Revisado: 09-21-24
I was hesitant to read because of the mixed reviews but I’ve read all the King books so I plunged right in. I thought the story flowed well, a bit more fantasy than usual but the writing was spot on classic King. The narrator was great, especially with so many different characters. It’s a long book but it read very fast!
