Historia
Today, most of us communicate from behind electronic screens, and studies show that Americans feel less connected and more divided than ever before. The blame for some of this disconnect can be attributed to our political landscape, but the erosion of our conversational skills as a society lies with us as individuals. And the only way forward, says Headlee, is to start talking to each other. In We Need to Talk, she outlines the strategies that have made her a better conversationalist - and offers simple tools that can improve anyone's communication.

We need to listen!
Revisado: 11-23-22
Great conversation starts with opening our ears, not just our mouths.
I first saw or heard the author on a Ted talk clip at a training class. The small snippet was enough to spur my interest in the book. I was not disappointed as she expounded on many different subjects, research, and antidotes to bring to life how the art of conversation is at the very least in hibernation these days.
It is a fascinating read on a subject that frankly doesn't have a lot of coverage.

Historia
Stephen R. Covey's book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, has been a top seller for the simple reason that it ignores trends and pop psychology for proven principles of fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity. Celebrating its 15th year of helping people solve personal and professional problems, this special anniversary edition includes a new foreword and afterword written by Covey that explore whether the 7 Habits are still relevant and answer some of the most common questions he has received over the past 15 years.

Why did I wait?
Revisado: 01-12-22
This has been one of those books I have passed over countless times as, "I should read that". I was right.
If you want a quick fix this is not a book for you. This book is about something principled and deeper. Admitted by the author himself that many of the concepts are not his original thoughts, that are supremely packaged to work together to bring balance and better results in almost any realm of your life.

Historia
In his landmark best seller The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell redefined how we understand the world around us. Now, in Blink, he revolutionizes the way we understand the world within. Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant, in the blink of an eye, that actually aren't as simple as they seem. Why are some people brilliant decision makers, while others are consistently inept?

Made me look!
Revisado: 02-03-21
My first Gladwell book, but will not be my last. I enjoyed it greatly. He takes things that you either never have thought of at all, presents concepts in ways you may not have been able to quite articulate. He helps you look at things from multiple angles.
