OMG the best !

I loved "Jacob's Song" and thought I would try another book by the same author. Carter : an ex special ops member who got tired of killing and wanted to save lives instead as a firefighter. Michelle: single Mom trying to bring up her son inspite of the child's rich Father controlling and manipulating her.Once Carter saves her from a burning car, the die is cast. Hot ,hot scenes between the two but Cater's totally endearing as he bonds with Michelle's son,Diego. Carter comes from a family of wealth and power but he only pulls that card in emergency to protect the ones he loves. I actually sat in the parking lot of my gym listening as Carter gives Michelle's ex (Diego 's Father) his comeuppance to free Michelle forever. OMG Good with great ending...fun also to hear the banter with his firefighter brothers at the station....highly recommended. Great narrators, too

Loved the book and couldn't wait for the audio..

First let me say that I loved this story when I was I read it after it first came out & have been waiting for the audio. It does have heavy themes of dealing with & surviving cancer, mental illness, blackmail &child abuse but done in a tasteful manner. I was rooting for Grace & Jacob from the beginning ; I was glad that Grace was a "stand by your man" & Jacob grew enough to accept her support & love while learning to love her. Steamy hot sexy, great plot, all ends nicely tied up with happy ending . Having worked in OR, not all of those scenes were factual but didn't detract from story. Highly recommended...I will listen again. Thank God for a good female narrator.

I have loved Jim and I Mai on YouTube and was thrilled to see that they have a podcast in Spanish. Interesting content, tons of vocabulary and clear pronunciation all while learning about Mexican culture. I also love that she corrects his mistakes...mistakes many English Speakers would make. ...definitely will keep listening

A 10 ! Great performance & Plot

I read this originally in the 80's when it was first released. Although I read it in English and Spanish , I remembered to be a favorite, but only remembered parts of the plot. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I listened to this after " The Flame & the Flower ". The plot is much better ( written about 10 years after first book) and the Narrator this time actually gets it right with the accents , unlike the disappointment I had with "The Flame and the Flower ".

Highly recommended . If I could give it 10 stars, I would !

I waited for this for months!

Let me say that I read this first in the 70's when I watched the older camp counselors all reading it at every meal at Summer Camp. How my Mother let me read it, I'm still not sure , but the romance bug hit me and never left! I loved this book & read her other books,but none was like "The Flame & the Flower". I loved the story , but performance so-so ( not sure about Heather and Hattie's accents) .I have to say that I listened in the car, on my kindle , at lunch at work, doing the house cleaning.... you name it I was listening! For those who say Brandon's behavior was suspect , I remind that this book was written at a very different time for male/female relationships and that those relationships were even more different in the 19th century; take the book for the enjoyable story it is and the precursor to all the romance books we love today and not look at it through 21st century eye. Enjoy! I'm now going on to my next Woodiwiss favorite " A Rose in Winter"

The most heartbreaking and beautiful love story

I confess that I only watched select episodes of Bridgerton, but decided to watch the first episode of "Queen Charlotte". After the first episode ,I was hooked and binge watched remaining episodes. I was excited when I saw the audio version and was treated to an audio version that pretty much matched the series: achingly beautiful story with steller performance. Anyone who loved the series will love the audio: 10+

Another one from Christian's point of view

While I enjoyed the Fifty Sades.series,I always enjoyed seeing/hearing from Christian's point of view. A great wild and sexy ride with another amazing performance by Zachary Webber: I don't know if anyone else could nail all the voices for characters as he does. Yes, the ending is different than in Fifty Shades Freed and I would have wished for a combination of the two, but my overall enjoyment was such that it was I'm not complaining too loudly.

Just as wonderful as I remembered

My Father gave me this book to read when I was in my teens. I loved the peek into the life of conservative Chinese family, their day to day life and struggles and the fight for an "insignificant "5th daughter's independence and belonging as she straddles two cultures. Highly recommend for anyone who loves biographies and cultural insight.

Pleasant surprise

I was wanting to listen to a good romance and was disappointed that my favorite Kathleen Woodiwiss novels had release dates changed from July to January. This more than filled its place with good story and great performance . I gave 4/5 instead of 5/5 since I think the villain wasn't punished sufficiently but otherwise 5/5....I will be looking for more books by Debra Mullins and performance by Kitty Mule..did I add this was included in my membership for FREE??

As wonderful as 25 years ago

I read this book 25 years ago and this amazing performance with character voices portraying so many different characters reminded me why I read the book until it fell apart. Amazing story of two people who were unloved their whole lives but found love, acceptance and amazing triumph over adversity. Excellent voices for all characters...a 10+.
