I had originally read this a few years ago and enjoyed it then, but being able to listen really took the story to the next level for me. This is a cute YA fantasy that revolves around a love triangle and a mystery. I personally thought that the effect used to do The Voice is perfect! Be warned that it does end on a cliffhanger, though I find myself going back to read the second book now.

I LOVED the story itself but found a few inconsistency issues with the narrator and the past Pride series books. My biggest issue was that Bo Novikov suddenly is portrayed as having a Russian accent (though if you read the Pride series you'd know he grew up in Maine so the only accent he should have is more a Bostonian one) and then suddenly the accent disappeared completely when the protagonists ran into him at the steak house. I also was thrown by the fact that this narrator portrayed Ric & Niles Van Holtz as having a Brooklyn-ish accent when Niles is from the Pacific NW and Ric had been portrayed as having a smoother/culturally refined accent in the previous Pride series.

Again, the story itself was excellent & I will forever read and listen to anything Shelly Laurenston publishes, I just wish the narrator had either read or listened to the Pride series beforehand.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would but it wouldn't be my first choice as a recommendation. The narrator seemed to read/portray the dialogue differently than I had interpreted it when originally reading the book.

What three words best describe Diane Lehman’s performance?

Not my favorite performance. The book itself is great but the way the narrator portrayed the main character was a bit too annoying for me and I had to take frequent breaks when it got to be too much.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I highly enjoyed the story itself and would recommend reading the book instead over listening to it.

What did you love best about Wait for It?

This book & audiobook really hit me in the feels. I openly wept a few times because that is how moving I found it & how convincing Callie Dalton was as the narrator.

What other book might you compare Wait for It to and why?

All of Mariana Zapata's books have that epic slow burn romance going on so do yourself a favor and also check The Wall of Winnipeg and Me, Kulti, Under Locke, Lingus, Rhythm, Chord, & Malykhin, etc.

Have you listened to any of Callie Dalton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I think I could listen to Callie Dalton read out a shopping list and still be a fan. If I could have her record all my favorite books, I would totally make that happen.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Anything involving Louie and Josh.

Any additional comments?

One of my favorite things about this book was the fact that it connected some of her past books to this one (Under Locke & Wall of Winnipeg). I'm

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I recommend this audiobook (and all other Mariana Zapata audiobooks) to everyone I know. This author really knows how to get you right in the feels and Callie Dalton as the narrator is incredible in expressing that.

What other book might you compare Kulti to and why?

If you love the slow burn romance of Kulti you should definitely check out Mariana Zapata's other works like The Wall of Winnipeg and Me & Wait for It.

Any additional comments?

I thankfully happened upon this audiobook via my library one day and was instantly hooked, not only does it involve my favorite sport, but it is so well written and really got me emotionally invested in the characters and story. After listening to the audiobook non-stop (who needs sleep anyway) I immediately went on to devour every other book I could possibly find by this author and have not been disappointed once.

What did you love best about The Underground Trilogy Box Set?

The narrator did fantastic accents when in character and each definitely had it's own unique voice. I loved that the final book really wrapped up the series and didn't leave any burning questions unanswered. (Also the fact that I didn't have to really wait to see what happened since all 3 books are in this trilogy set was such a bonus).

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Underground Trilogy Box Set?

Any scenes with Wish, my favorite character. The world and the fae were so vividly painted, it made the entire series memorable.

Which scene was your favorite?

The garden picnic scene in the first book was so vivid that I had closed my eyes and saw it perfectly in my head.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"Get entranced by the secret world of the Fae."

Any additional comments?

My only issue was that sometimes the narrator over annunciated words for the parts not being spoken by a character or in a characters tone, it got a bit distracting.I received a copy of this box set of The Underground Trilogy by Anna Kyss for free in exchange for an honest review.
