Interesting storyline but the writing was only ok
Revisado: 08-18-22
A lot of the dialogue was filler instead of a means of moving the story forward. If that were fixed, then I think I’d rate the book better.

Kind of silly
Revisado: 08-16-22
It was funny but maybe a little too short and not near enough background for characters if you want to feel invested in the story.

I was pleasantly surprised
Revisado: 08-16-22
I was skeptical to listen to this one, considering it was a book about a super hero and that isn’t typically what I read. However, I loved the angle of this book. Some of it was predictable but the ending was perfect.

All of the emotions
Revisado: 08-09-22
This is a book I’d recommend to anyone interested in a story about romance during the civil rights period. It is a book about sacrifice and pain. There are moments of true happiness but at such a cost that I’d never consider it a feel good book.
Much of the book made my heart ache and some nights, after listening to it, I cried myself to sleep. The novel may not be a true story but it certainly reflects true events and an insight into reality that is affecting us all today.
I also felt a bit of relief and a little guilt that my life is easier and more simple. I married the love of my life legally and without worry of loosing my job or being institutionalized.
There is so much hate in the world but this book reminds me of how far we’ve come. It gives me hope that my children and their children may live in a world where love is simply that, love.
I hope for everyone that reads this book to feel deep empathy for the pain and sacrifice made by those before us so that we can love and be loved.

Revisado: 08-07-22
I was on the edge of my seat the entire book l and I am not sure how long it’ll take for me to recover… it was like a horror movie. But not. Strange. And I feel quite unsettled by it.

Historia
Goldengrove’s towers and twisted chimneys rose at the very edge of the peaceful Weald, a stone’s throw from the poisonous marshes and merciless waters of Rye Bay. Young Tabby Palethorp had been running wild there, ever since her mother grew too ill to leave her room. I was the perfect choice to give Tabby a good English education: thoroughly respectable and far too plain to tempt her lonely father, Sir Kit, to indiscretion. I knew better than to trust my new employer with the truth about my past. But knowing better couldn’t stop me from yearning for impossible things.

I stayed up all night listening to it
Revisado: 08-04-22
This book was only supposed to be something to entertain me while I worked on projects but it turned into me binging it with every moment I had available and then I stayed up well into the night until my phone died and forced me to go to bed.
I would have liked a bit more at the end or even an epilogue following up with the characters. That being said, I’d totally listen to a sequel on it.

Historia
On an island lives a boy called Peter and his band of merry lost boys, young forever. That is unless they get sick or killed by pirates or eaten by crocodiles or unless - inexplicably - they grow old. For some of them do grow old, and nobody knows why. One of these boys is called Jamie, and he was the first boy that Peter ever brought to the island. Jamie's lived there for longer than he can remember, and it's not all fun and games.

I was not expecting that!
Revisado: 05-16-22
I listened to this book with my wife after we heard an interview with the author. It was so twisted and filled with surprises while also matching the well known version of Peter Pan. I don’t think I’ll ever think of “the boy who could fly” the same way again. Well written. Great performance.

Very Basic
Revisado: 03-27-20
I’ve been climbing for over a year and I currently climb V4 and 5.11.
From a written perspective, it was organized well and easy to understand.
For me, however, the information presented was very basic and oriented toward someone who is considering trying climbing but has little to no experience. Someone at V0-V1 and 5.8-5.9 level of climbing may get more out of it.
Because the information was so basic, it would be easy for anyone to find the same information on climbing vlogs like sendedition.com or climb.com without paying for it. Which is probably my main driver for rating it overall at 3 stars instead of something higher.
