Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Setting was a war school!
Revisado: 02-18-25
I enjoyed that, not a wizards school or a boarding school. I loved the descriptions of dragons, gryphons et al. Didnt mind the female perspective but I did mind all the sex talk. It didnt seem real but then Im a guy. Overall I liked it enough to pick up the second book. It is a worthwhile read.

Second read even better then the first!
Revisado: 01-21-25
If chapter 1 doesn’t hook you, then don’t read it. Chapter 1 will draw you in. If youve ever seen a large european church and have been amazed, you’ll enjoy the book. The book is not really about the church there is just enough old architecture to be interesting. The book is about the people who dreamed it, built it, paid for it & preached & worshipped in the town. Over 100 years. Next in order to overlay it in the time period. Great book!

In this remarkable dual memoir, film legend Martin Sheen and accomplished actor/filmmaker Emilio Estevez recount their lives as father and son. In alternating chapters—and in voices that are as eloquent as they are different—they narrate stories spanning more than 50 years of family history, and reflect on their journeys into two different kinds of faith.

Historia
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

writing style to MC is good!
Revisado: 07-20-24
At first, I thought it would be unrealistic. But you only have to suspend your realism for a moment. And then the authors text takes over in the book is done. Good fast, enjoyable Science Fiction just like MC of old.

Historia
We are a nation of immigrants, never more than now. In recent decades, the numbers have skyrocketed, thanks to people coming from many continents—especially Asia, Africa, and South America. Just like their predecessors, they face countless obstacles, including political hatred. And yet, just like their predecessors, they work hard. They persist. And they become us. Veteran journalist, broadcaster, and interviewer Ray Suarez has crisscrossed the country to speak to new Americans from all corners of the globe, and to record their stories.

Gives a wide perspective on illegal immigration.
Revisado: 05-20-24
Mostly I just find the authors voice calming. He has first hand knowledge of a side of the immigration debate that many need to hear. The book is well written & considers all other perspectives. If you already know who Ray Suarez is, you know that he speaks & writes in perfectly grammatical & well written sentences.

A great story!
Revisado: 05-01-23
We know who the author is… I found it enlightening to hear her voice, speaking instead of singing. I couldnt help but think that parts of the story probly happened but who knows? I am a man so I dont read romance novels much but I do read & SH has always been a favorite of mine, so I enjoyed the book. Its not too contrived, not boring but in the end I just read a romance novel.

Historia
Documentary filmmaker Alice Lindstedt has been obsessed with the vanishing residents of the old mining town, dubbed “The Lost Village”, since she was a little girl. In 1959, her grandmother’s entire family disappeared in this mysterious tragedy, and ever since, the unanswered questions surrounding the only two people who were left - a woman stoned to death in the town center and an abandoned newborn - have plagued her. She’s gathered a small crew of friends in the remote village to make a film about what really happened.
