I absolutely loved this book! I agree that it was a LITTLE cringy when the female voice tried to sound like a man, but whew...still amazing! I loved the roller coaster of it all! And then the spice...👀🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 5/5 for me!

I normally love Kristen Painter, and I’ll read the sequel to this book. It was just TEDIOUS!! The entire book took place in the span of a weekend plus a couple days! It was pretty obvious what would happen and where Sparrow would end up. I’d like to hear more about their story though, hopefully the next book will move along at a better pace. The characters are interesting and likable, though I felt Sparrow was a little on the shallow side especially when deciding whether or not to be queen. Still interested but this one wasn’t a favorite.

Really loved the book and the characters. Would have been nice if the narrator could distinguish male and female voices. Sometimes I would have to go back because I didn’t know which character was speaking, but overall loved the book and excited to read the rest !

This is the first Bethany Turner book I have listened to and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The main character did make me want to shake some sense into her, but when a book can pull a reaction from you, that’s a good thing.
I am excited to listen to some of her other works!
