Went into this with great expectations since it has been recommended a lot. I tried to get through it but gave up when it jumped the shark with the zombie dog. To be honest I was bored and waiting for it to be over before that point but that just came out of left field. Shaking my head over the 5-star reviews. Wish I had DNF this long before I did, hours wasted.

In the idyllic town of Middle Falls, Oregon, a peculiar phenomenon unfolds—those who die but are not prepared to move on open their eyes again at a pivotal juncture in their past lives, all memories of their first life intact. That includes Hattie Kildare. After dying in 2008, Hattie awakens as a teenager in 1943, back in a world gripped by the chaos of World War II. Amidst the echoes of conflict and the specter of loss, she is reunited with Jimmy, her beloved first boyfriend lost to the war in her first life.

I love the changes Mr. Inmon makes and the things he keeps the same in the Middle Falls series. I have purchased all twenty books in the series and will continue as long as he does. I really enjoyed the different time period in this one and would love to see books further back and into the future.

Historia
The Bobiverse is a different place in the aftermath of the Starfleet War, and the days of the Bobs gathering in one big happy moot are far behind. There’s anti-Bob sentiment on multiple planets, the Skippies playing with an AI time bomb, and multiple Bobs just wanting to get away from it all. But it all pales compared to what Icarus and Daedalus discover on their 26,000-year journey to the center of the galaxy.

Historia
Karl Strong is lonely. Not quite alone, which is, perhaps, worse. His best friend moved away, his mother died, and his father has crawled into a hole and pulled it in after him. He is a talented athlete, but after high school, he lets himself go and dies of a heart attack. Luckily, this is Middle Falls, where death is rarely the end of the story. Karl will have every chance to find what he needs.

I love this series. This one started a little slow for me, by the middle of the story I was hooked and wishing it wouldn't end. Mr. Inmon please don't stop this series, I can't tell you how much I look forward to each new book, and when I get depressed, I restart the series. Thank you for Middle Falls.

Now Dana begins a different sort of journey than the one she had planned for: a journey to survive in a time and place where humankind no longer exists and Mother Earth has reclaimed what is rightfully hers. She must survive the wilderness while searching for clues as to where she is and where to find safety.

I really enjoyed this...

but be warned there is not much drama in this book, and I loved that about it. I read this in 2023 and with everything going on in the world this was exactly what I needed. No characters trying to rule the world. I think I am in the minority in liking quiet post apocalyptic stories and to be honest there are not many. My all time favorite is The Last Tribe by Brad Manuel

Interesting idea for a story, I was bored and finally gave up 5 hours into the book. I didn't like or dislike any of the characters. Main character was of course a white guy who could do no wrong. First woman he met instantly fell in love with him. Bad guy was going to use religion to rule the world. No thanks.

Historia
A century ago, scientists theorised that a habitable planet existed in a nearby solar system. Today, 10 astronauts will leave a dying Earth to find it. Four are decorated veterans of the 20th century’s space race. And six are teenagers, graduates of the exclusive Dalton Academy, who’ve been in training for this mission for most of their lives. It will take the team 23 years to reach Terra-Two. Twenty-three years spent in close quarters. Twenty-three years with no-one to rely on but each other. Twenty-three years with no rescue possible, should something go wrong.

Mixed feelings
Revisado: 08-26-23
There was a lot I didn't like about this book and yet I finished it in two days. What I liked: the ending, and that's not sarcasm, the ending redeemed the book for me. What I didn't like about the book: the pacing, the characters, annoying drama, the book was really not about traveling to another planet it was about the characters strengths and weaknesses. The narrator did not help. There was a lot of swallowing and lip smacking but that was probably more of a production issue. Anyway, I definitely sped up the narration, sometimes to 1.7 speed just to get through to the end. Even with all the negative when I put the book down, I couldn't wait to pick it back up to find out what happens. This is probable not a book I would recommend but surprisingly I might listen to it again sometime in the future. There a not many books that make me feel so conflicted.

They tried to kill or capture Yozef Kolsko. The possibility that Caedellium could have peaceful years going forward is refuted. The key is bringing down Narthon. But how? Caedellium is too small, despite innovations by Yozef Kolsko (Joseph Colsco) and Mark Kaldwel (Caldwell), humans cast away on the planet Anyar. Allies are needed. Campaigns to be planned. Risks to be taken. For Yozef Kolsko, it means assuming roles he never imagined or believed himself capable. Anyar will never be the same.

Even though it's been a while since I've read book 7, I did not have any trouble picking the series up. From the reviews it seems people either love this series or hate it and I love it. If you've made it to book 8, I assume you love it also. I write these reviews for myself, future pam, go ahead and re-read entire series when book 9 comes out.
