The story started out interesting, from first chapter to the last. I could have done without some of the language, though minimal the words chosen were my issue. Not enough offensive language to ruin the book though. I gave it 5 stars because it was hard to figure anything out. You’ll not guess the ending.

The timelines were messed together perfectly so everything is understood

Throughout the story, there were a few historically, correct statements which I had really enjoyed. the conditions of slaves, the forbidden love, and in modern day a woman still reeling over the loss of a child and a husband, not being in as straightforward as he should be. It was a great story For fear of giving away any spoilers. I’ll just say it was certainly worth the credit.

A wonderful story about generations of a family dating before Christ! To the present day and of course good verses evil. Story line was good and all questions were answered in the end. So from beginning to end, I loved it. I finished it in 2 days

Usually I’m real good about figuring out an ending or the bad guy. This one kept me confused up to the last hour or so. Great story. The ending was appropriate.

First I’ll say I pre ordered the book waiting impatiently for the orphan X newest book. At first I felt it was too preachy with a Huge political message, which left me disappointed. But I pressed on because I’m a big fan of author and narrator. So glad I did. It was the usual great action and smart ass answers. I thought the end was perfect. TILL IT ENDED. I love Evan, Tommy, and Joey. I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll tell you. If you’ve enjoyed the series, you’ll enjoy this book too. I’ve got all the books in his series. No regrets

Sometimes her mind went too far into unimportant information. But it was brought back into the story line shortly.
I thought I had it figured out. Then it took a twist. Then another twist and I yelled I KNEW IT!

There wasn’t anything at all that I did not like about the book. I lived in Green Bay Wisconsin and I’ve got children that live in De Pere Wisconsin. It was great to get a bad story on the area especially one that was shocking and heartbreaking at the same time. The mausoleum on the Fox River Trail by the railroad tracks as mentioned in the book, my family and I have ridden bikes passed it many times. I knew the mausoleum and the name before I ever listen to the book. I especially like the fact that they talked about the past And brought it up to date to the present like the opening of the mulva center. I actually have a granddaughter that works there. My daughter lives near the Abbey of Saint Norbert. It was as if I was getting a history lesson on my own hometown. It was wonderful listening to the laws that were in place in 1893, the Titanic sinking in 1912.If you like history, it is a must read book. If you like a good crime novel, it’s a good book. But if you’re familiar with the area, this book is phenomenal.
