Historia
One sweltering summer night, a notorious, international big-game hunter and his beautiful wife are shot dead—at long range—while swimming naked at their seaside estate in Rancho Bonita, California. The police are convinced the perpetrator is an outspoken animal-rights activist—who happens to have both military experience and a criminal record. The evidence seems overwhelming, but soon rumors start to surface that indicate there may be more than one person with the means and motive for murder.

Revisado: 08-06-18
It's not often you find an author with such a relaxed and easy way of writing. I was comfortable with David Freed's books from the start, no having to labor through the first few chapters to' get into the book'. I love his characters, all of them, and enjoy the stories. The narration is first class, perfect for this series. Not often enough a book (or book series) finds the perfect narrator, Ray Porter and the Cordell Logan Mysteries is a perfect match. I have a tough time waiting for the next book to come out....

Historia
A notorious, international big-game hunter and his beautiful, former dental hygienist wife are gunned down at long range late one sweltering summer night, while swimming naked on their seaside estate in opulent Rancho Bonita, California. Police investigators are convinced that the killer is a strident, outspoken animal-rights activist, with both military experience and a criminal record. The evidence against him would appear overwhelming - until rumors begin to surface that others may have had their own reasons for committing murder.

Historia
Philip Norman turns his formidable talent to the Beatle for whom belonging to the world's most beloved pop group was never enough. Drawing on previously untapped sources, and with unprecedented access to all the major characters, here is the definitive portrait of John Lennon. This biography takes a fresh and penetrating look at Lennon's much-chronicled life, including the songs that have turned him, posthumously, into almost a secular saint.

Abridgement Ruins Book
Revisado: 11-26-16
Any additional comments?
I've just finished Paul McCartney, The Life by Philip Norman. I was looking forward to his John Lennon Biography. Unfortunately this book has been abridged so badly that you are left confused by leaps forward in the story that don't make sense. It feels as if it was abridged by simply removing chapters. I was able to follow some of the 'gaps' because I'd listed to the Paul McCartney book, but this is horrible. Also the narrator seems to be having a hard time with the material, running sentences into each other so you become aware of the reading and are not able to immerse yourself in the book. Very disappointing.

Historia
Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Love the way this story unfolds
Revisado: 05-01-16
Would you consider the audio edition of A Man Called Ove to be better than the print version?
Once in a great while a narrator adds to a work, breathes something unique in to it. This is one of those instances.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Ove, his wife, Parveneh...oh goodness, all of them... including the cat.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Finding out why Ove had remodeled the kitchen. When Ove learns that his friend/enemy/friend needs his help....now. How the people who come in to Ove's life are unconciously helping him, and he...them. His relationship with his wife. And countless others...
Any additional comments?
This book is up there with Laurie Lee's Cider with Rosie as my favorite books. I love the simplicity of this book, which at the same time unfolds a complex tale as it goes along. It shatters your first perceptions. It's beautiful, it's funny, it's profoundly moving. I just can't think of any other way to describe it.

Best Business Book I've Ever Read
Revisado: 04-12-16
What made the experience of listening to The Pumpkin Plan the most enjoyable?
I have read many business books. This book is a revolution. Instead of pages and pages of dry and boring stuff about how clever the author is and 10 point plans for success, this just gets down and dirty and gives you common sense and practical advice you can actually use. And Mike is hilarious.
What did you like best about this story?
Common sense advice. Fantastic narration.

Buy this. You will not regret it.
