Historia
On Zero Day of the first and last cyberwar in human history, the internet went dark, transport and power grids collapsed and cities began to starve, showing just how vulnerable the world could be to a targeted campaign of online sabotage. This final installment of this prescient epic of civilisation collapse finds the small ragtag band of survivors come together to face a new, but eerily familiar threat - the rise of a fascist militia among the ruins of a failing country.

An unforgettable series narrated by a master storyteller
Revisado: 04-02-24
After a fantastic surprise realising I was listening to a fellow Australian doing the narration, and then discovering said narrator was an absolute expert orator capable not only of perfect inflection but individual character voices in a wholly satisfying portrayal, I was quickly hooked.
Soon into the first book, I found myself deeply invested in what was a perfect blend of story and wonderful character development - enjoying every moment of dialog and world building - all wrapped up in the the brilliant narration.
It’s been a long time since I’ve found myself laughing, worrying and becoming angered - so deeply invested in the story - as in this fantastic series.
I’ve binged all three - and haven’t regretted a second. Looking now toward others by Birmingham , and also checking out where else I can find narration by the wonderful Rupert Degas.

Historia
Every modern city has one week’s worth of food to feed itself. Then it will collapse. Cut off the resources to New York, Sydney, or even a mid-size metropolis, and millions will soon starve. In Zero Day Code we see those immense and open, hyper-complex, networked supercities of the new millennium die. And in the last moments we see their vengeance take form as all the best and worst traits of humanity bubble to the surface.

Historia
In Still Just a Geek, Wil revisits his 2004 collection of blog posts, Just a Geek, filled with insightful and often laugh-out-loud annotated comments, additional later writings, and all new material written for this publication. The result is an incredibly raw and honest memoir, in which Wil opens up about his life, about falling in love, about coming to grips with his past work, choices, and family, and finding fulfillment in the new phases of his career.

Over, and over and over again… (refer headline).
I love Wil Wheaton’s narration on every title I’ve listened to for which he is narrator, and it’s no different here - his oratory is wonderful.
Oh but the material…
I made it around 10hours, trying sooo hard to will myself another hour, until I just couldn’t take any loops…

Great narration ... but the book.... Ugh

Wheaton does everything humanly possible to breathe life into this shadow of the original.... there just isn't anything to keep me hooked after the ~2.5hrs I've spent on it ... this one is going back.

A heartwarming, humble and ensipiring recollection
Revisado: 11-18-19
In Against All Odds, Craig Challen and Richard Harris pen a wonderful first hand account of the reality of the events surrounding the rescue of the Thai soccer team and their coach from the Tham Luang Cave system in Chang Rai.
In an eloquently penned first hand account, and with excellent narration provided by Christopher Stollery and Simon Harvey, you’re in for a treat. Complete with Australian colloquialisms, and an honest and up-front expression that exposes it's Australian influences - this book will be especially enjoyable to Australians such as myself, will equally so to those all around the world.
I smiled, laughed, even teared up at times - marveling at the humble perseverance, tenacity and ingenuity of these men.
Throughout, both overtly and in the subtle focus of the authors on the events in Thailand, is the recognition that this was a massive team effort. Both authors are - to their absolute credit, and exemplifying their selfless personalities - careful to highlight the actions of the other rescuers, support staff and others who were so essential to the success of this operation.
For anyone who showed and interest in the happenings during the event, to those who are interested in triumph over adversity - anyone wondering what true altruism is, despite potential consequence to self - this is an absolute must read.
