My first crush. My first kiss. The boy who ripped my heart out of my chest again and again. Over and over. I let him have it every single time. Willingly. We are that toxic high school couple you hear about, the one you witness in the hallway as they avoid each other. You laugh at them in class when they’re forced to work together, their gazes full of hatred. We are the couple you gossip about when they win homecoming prince and princess their sophomore year.... The back and forth is what kills me the most. I’m not his princess, I’m the girl he toys with when he’s bored.

What it feels like to be in high school
Revisado: 12-07-21
When the book first began I was a little skeptical. It was very high school sounding. After I readjusted my notions about the book and took it a little less seriously it delivered on its concept. If you are looking for a book about high schoolers that talk and act like adults this is not the book for you. Monica has sounding and acting like a teenager down. The book itself was cute, and a little short. The narration done by Teddy and Sarah was great no complaints. Would recommend for anyone looking for a high school romance with just a hint of enemies to lovers or someone just moving from high school lover books to younge adult books with 18+ concepts.

DNF
Revisado: 10-22-21
I was trying hard to finish this book but I really couldn't. I DNF about 70% in. I couldn't make myself listen to any more. The story itself was alright nothing great nothing horrible. It just wasn't captivating.Nothing made me want to keep reading. I will try again to finish In the future. The narrators where fine, I think they did the characters justice with the material they where given.

DNF, idk what was wrong
Revisado: 07-01-21
I truly wanted to like this book its been on my list forever and I never got around to it tell now. Maybe I'm to old for this type of book. I have read plenty of other high-school themed books and been okay but this one just didn't do it for me. It moved to fast and to slow at the same time, tie in two corky best friend, one "Mormon" and the other a "slut" made me just like it less. I'm all for having everyone represented but when used to be the sidekick or just a way to make the main character seem better because they choose to be friends with this person Im just not for. I dnf about the 50%. If you like high-school books, well written, a little boring, but good plot and ending this book might be for you. This may be the start of a reading rut for me.

I've never been afraid of the dark...but that doesn't mean I wanted to live in it. Maybe everyone wants what they can't have, but I should've thought it over before I unlocked the door to their forbidden world. Number One is mostly silent. He watches me very carefully. Number Two is mostly gentle. But it's the other side of him I like best. Number Three is mostly reserved. It was carnal, it was sensual, and it was erotic. That's it. That's all it was supposed to be. A trip into the dark. A peek into the forbidden. I just didn't expect to like them.

I struggled after chapter 2 to keep listening but I wanted to give the book a fair chance so i listened untill chapter 7. The narrators weren't super bad but didnt help the bad writing. I kept forgetting the 2 main characters where over the age of 17. Overall would not recommend maybe it gets better but from what I read It didnt seem like it would.

Ambrose Young was beautiful. He was tall and muscular, with hair that touched his shoulders and eyes that burned right through you. The kind of beautiful that graced the covers of romance novels, and Fern Taylor would know. She'd been reading them since she was 13. But maybe because he was so beautiful he was never someone Fern thought she could have...until he wasn't beautiful anymore.

Get ready to cry
Revisado: 06-23-20
At moments the story became muddled by the change in POV but after 5 chanperts I could tell the authors change in dialogue. other then that I cried atleast a handful of times.

Different
Revisado: 01-07-20
I've read many of Tijan books and this was one of the first that I felt like the actual story ment more then the love within the book. The book was in third person which I felt helped the story line as is made it less a romantic book but did hinder the book in the beginning. The writing in the beginning hinted at things but I truly had no idea what was going on for the first 20 mins.

Great Book// Vocal issues
Revisado: 07-25-18
I have listened to this book two times. I decided to listen to it again because I really enjoyed the story, but the voices just bothered me to much. I looked I to Leah Mallach and listened to another book she had read for and I really enjoyed it. I think this book just didnt fit her voice correctly that or she was sick. Throughout the book instead of finding Amber innocent and in love I found her to be more annoying then anything. the story was good but overall I think Leah was the wrong choice to voice a 16 year old
