Historia
The fires on Bataan burned on the evening of April 9, 1942 - illuminating the white flags of surrender against the nighttime sky. Woefully outnumbered, outgunned, and ill-equipped, battered remnants of the American-Philippine army surrendered to the forces of the Rising Sun. Yet amongst the chaos and devastation of the American defeat, Army Captain Donald D. Blackburn refused to lay down his arms.

Good Story, awful Reader
Revisado: 04-13-13
What did you like best about Shadow Commander? What did you like least?
This is a very interesting Story, the life story of a courage's Man.Least: the constant mispronounced titles, place names, ie it should be Chu Lai, not Chu Lay.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Shadow Commander?
Blackburn's Homecoming and re-adjustment to Peace and Home.
How could the performance have been better?
A Reader who had familiarized himself with the proper/correct pronunciations of place >names and definitions, ie. the Army of South Vietnam was not pronounced A.R.V.N. but Arven, he spelled it every time.
Could you see Shadow Commander being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Harrison Ford
Any additional comments?
It's frustrating and discouraging to find a Book with a great story being butchered by the Reader. How about giving some Readers an Audition and have the script reviewed by someone who is familiar with the local flavor and lingo.

Spymasters
Revisado: 08-16-12
What would have made The Spymasters better?
more of an in depth story focusing on the actual action
What was most disappointing about W.E.B. Griffin and William E. Butterworth IV ’s story?
to much time was spent on interpersonal mumbo jumbo which went nowhere.
Have you listened to any of Christopher Lane’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no, but he did an excellent Job, with the script he had to work with. Maybe he can redo all of the "Men in Blue" series, because Michael Russotto is a DISASTER.
Any additional comments?
I am original Griffin Fan, beginning with the Lieutenants, this book although long awaited, was slow on action. Nothing at all like all the other Griffin books.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
it made me laugh and root for "our" side against the arrogant- "we are better than you" attitude of the French. Very accurately presented

Historia
On May 13, 1945, 24 American servicemen and WACs boarded a transport plane for a sightseeing trip over “Shangri-La,” a beautiful and mysterious valley deep within the jungle-covered mountains of Dutch New Guinea. Unlike the peaceful Tibetan monks of James Hilton’s best-selling novel Lost Horizon, this Shangri-La was home to spear-carrying tribesmen, warriors rumored to be cannibals. But the pleasure tour became an unforgettable battle for survival when the plane crashed. Miraculously, three passengers pulled through.

Revisado: 06-28-12
This book wasn???t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I have no idea, but ask me again when it is remastered.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The story itself is very heart wrenching and interesting.
What didn???t you like about Mitchell Zuckoff???s performance?
I think he should have had a "Professional" reader take over, his voice just put me to sleep.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Sadness, you survive a War only to loose your life on an R&R trip.
Any additional comments?
Authors should leave the reading of their Books to "Professionals" , it would certainly increase sales and great enjoyment for the listeners ( Customers).

big disappointment
Revisado: 01-22-11
I read the book before, but listing to this reader,at the slow speed he is reading put me to sleep. His pronunciation of the German is totally wrong. It's "Leibstandarte" meaning Hitler's Bodyguards, not "Liebstandarte" this has nothing to do with " Lieb- Love".
Scott Brick should have been chosen as the reader.
