Historia
Milton H. Erickson has been called the most influential hypnotherapist of our time. Part of his therapy was his use of teaching tales, which through shock, surprise, or confusion - with genius use of questions, puns, and playful humor - helped people to see their situations in a new way. In this audiobook Sidney Rosen has collected over 100 of the tales. Presented verbatim and accompanied by Dr. Rosen's commentary, they are grouped under such headings as Motivating Tales, Reframing, and Capturing the Innocent Eye.

There is something hard to describe for me that I didn’t like about the narration. The voice is clear and pleasant.

Historia
There are certain things we take as universal truths when it comes to dieting and health: kale is good; ice cream is bad. Until now. When Drs. Segal and Elinav published their groundbreaking research on personalized nutrition, it created a media frenzy. They had proved that individuals react differently to the same foods. In one stroke, they made all universal diet programs obsolete. The Personalized Diet helps listeners understand the fascinating science behind their work.

Historia
The groundbreaking trans-genre work of Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986) has been insinuating itself into the structure, stance, and very breath of world literature for well over half a century. Multi-layered, self-referential, elusive, and allusive writing is now frequently labelled Borgesian.

There was nothing in the story that would catch my attention. The artist's voice and performance did not help: sounded like a polished computer reading.

Historia
What is love? It's more scientific than you think. Through 10 lectures, Dr. Wind Goodfriend surveys the biology of interpersonal attraction, sexual preference and desire, and conflict resolution. You'll look at a variety of romantic notions, common myths, and love stereotypes through the lens of science in order to break them down and better set expectations when it comes to keeping a long-term relationship happy and healthy. You'll apply biology, psychology, and anthropology to that "spark" we feel when we are attracted to someone, to better understand what that feeling is.

Whoops!
Revisado: 03-31-21
Fell thru the cracks or intentionally omitted without mention? A very welcome subject and mostly up to date. But never in the sexual behaviour the otherwise very good lecture mentions pregnancy and its consequences: child, abortion, adoption, miscarriage. Not important??? Wow! The strong emotions one way or another with pregnancy both hormonal and psychological not mentioned??? Go figure.
Also, in the section on relatively common, uncommon and rare forms of sex and gender variations there is no mention of biological fitness to reproduce. (in 2021).

Imagine it were possible to bring the characters from a book to life. Not like when you listen to an audiobook with such enchantment that the characters seem to jump off the pages and into your bedroom...but for real. Imagine they could actually climb out of the pages and into our world. Then imagine if those characters brought their world into ours.

Our Nature is incredibly ....
Fill in the words. Rich, frightening, beautiful, mysterious, cruel...
This book made me more aware how ignorant and selfish we are as humans.
Since I have listen to this book the boring parts were OK. For reading the book I wish they were edited out.
Essential book for all generation readers but especially the young ones.

Again, another book that sounded interesting but probably really suitable for teenagers. Part of the adventure of sampling different books. In fairness, I did not get very far listening.

Historia
For centuries, parasites have lived in nightmares, horror stories, and the darkest shadows of science. In Parasite Rex, Carl Zimmer takes listeners on a fantastic voyage into the secret universe of these extraordinary life forms that are not only among the most highly evolved on Earth, but make up the majority of life's diversity. Traveling from the steamy jungles of Costa Rica to the parasite-riddled war zone of southern Sudan, Zimmer introduces an array of amazing creatures that invade their hosts, prey on them from within, and control their behavior.

Fascinating, Repetitive and reading disaster
Revisado: 04-02-20
Definitely interesting details of the cunning organism's strategy. At first. After a while, everything sounds pretty much the same, like someone reading a telephone book. Partly it is the style of writing. I enjoyed the stories of individual scientists and researchers on how they tried to crack the inside secrets of parasites. PS After I thought about the listening experience I found the big mistake by the producer to match this book with this particular artist reader. His voice is pleasant and I'd love to hear him with another book. For this story, it is a disaster.

Revisado: 10-12-19
The beginning was kind of very conventional: in terms of the characters. Conventional in terms of what was unfolding. Could not identify with the characters, their quest. May be of interest if I were a teenager.
