Historia
An androgynous gender-bending musician from the get-go, Cidny Bullens toured extensively with Sir Elton John and performed with Bob Dylan, undergoing a complete immersion in the drug-fueled excesses of 1970s rock 'n' roll. Despite getting sober, climbing the charts with the Grammy-nominated Survivor, as well as a Grammy nomination for his lead vocals in the soundtrack for the movie Grease, Bullens was unable to break out as a solo star in a world that allowed its artists to cross the gender line, but had much more narrow expectations about how women could behave and perform.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Historia
Lucinda Williams’s rise to fame was anything but easy. Raised in a working-class family in the Deep South, she moved from town to town each time her father—a poet, a textbook salesman, a professor, a lover of parties—got a new job, totaling twelve different places by the time she was eighteen. Her mother suffered from severe mental illness and was in and out of hospitals. And when Williams was about a year old, she had to have an emergency tracheotomy—an inauspicious start for a singing career. But she was also born a fighter, and she would develop a voice that has captivated millions.

Highly entertaining. Love that she doesn't apologize for any aspects of herself or her artistry

Historia
In the mid-70s, Steve Martin exploded onto the comedy scene. By 1978 he was the biggest concert draw in the history of stand-up. In 1981 he quit forever. Born Standing Up is, in his own words, the story of "why I did stand-up and why I walked away".

Multi-talented self-made man, helps us accept our own humanity
Revisado: 08-19-21
I should mention... Born Standing Up starts off a bit sad, Steve's youth. But it turns out, in my opinion, a triumphant and at times hilarious story of a self-made man with humble, human, and sometimes horrible beginnings. Also of an introvert isolationist (and beautiful, thoughtful human being) who made his way through life and brought tons of pleasure and laughter to others. I love Steve more, and accept my own imperfections more, after having read it. Enjoy!
That is my review, I guess I'll go ahead and post that review on Audible. Thanks for giving me a reason to write it.
Oh... I also think I remember the "other" thing I said about reconciliation. Not sure if it's the same thing you said you forgot. Something for next time we talk.
Thanks again for sharing some of your time and thoughts.
G'nite Nate
