Nero is slowly losing his friend. He will do anything to save them, even if the consequences are terrifying. Several years have passed since the orphans joined the rebel group Catalyst. As their training advances, they begin to contribute to the fight for equality. If the Erohsians were their only problem, life would be simple, but their reality is far from kind. Catalyst has a traitor and Iona is determined to find out who they are to protect what she now calls home. Nero on the other hand, is in over his head, dealing with more immediate problems.

New Lur is the ruins of a once-great city handed down to the humans by the technologically superior Erohsian race. This ramshackle town is also the home and playground of five carefree orphans. Well, four anyway. Nero endures irrational fear and night terrors while struggling to forge a bond with his happy-go-lucky foster siblings.
