Historia
The City of Inventions, Pallass, is a fascinating place. Filled with all kinds of oddballs from the named-rank [Alchemist], Saliss of Lights, to Grimalkin the [Sinew Magus], a drunken Dwarven master [Blacksmith], to Chaldion, to... Wyverns? Erin Solstice is on a break from her inn. Not for long; she's returning with more Skills, but she has changed. She will return with her usual chaos and wonder, but always differently. Now, there are flames and... a garden?

It's an Addiction
Revisado: 04-11-25
Wow, this combination of author and narrator is unmatched at this point. The story continues to tease the reader, and as soon as you want something more, the author gives you that and more. The performance of Floss's last scene gave me literal chills. I can't wait to discuss this installment with my fellow readers.

Freddy Stern, a twenty-one-year-old cashier, has lived a plain, albeit harsh life. Having been orphaned—twice—he's spent the last ten years working and staying out of trouble. His only aspiration is to save enough money to become an archhuman. His dream gets the jump on him when he barely survives a near-death encounter and finds himself in possession of 1% Lifesteal, a bizarre talent with numerous contradictions and just as many uses.

I expected a siphon remake, but I was completely off. A progression story with great storytelling and a good plot are always worth a credit.

Historia
Returning from his time in the cities’s militia, Ajax comes to find out his village was destroyed and his mentor was injured due to the whims of a spoiled noble. He knows there is nothing that can be done, as he is now, but luckily for him a dungeon nearby offers the perfect opportunity to train before heading to the Capital. But once he gets there what will he find? A way to heal his mentor? Support to grow even stronger? Nobles who want to use him for their own ends? Maybe all of the above.

Historia
Extreme sub-zero temperatures suffocate the surface. Frozen structures of bygone eras span across massive ice-wastes. And the survivors closely guard any technology rediscovered within them. The only escape from the deadly climate is beneath the surface, but that doesn't mean it's safe... Monstrous machines lurk in the depths. Unhinged demigods war against them, dying over and over, treating it all like a game. The depths themselves shift over time, more contraption than rock.

It took me quite some time to start this series. When I first came across the book, I disliked the narrator. That said, he did a great job. The author produced a graphic world with just the right amount of trash-talking for me. This series is for you if you like action, laughs, love, death, and robots. I just finished book four and am ready for the next installment.

Historia
When the cultivators came to Earth, they destroyed our entire civilization in a matter of hours. Armies fell, cities burned, and that was before the moon turned red and filled our world with monsters. Now, over a decade later, what's left of humanity slaves under the heels of our Qi-infused masters. The luckiest of us might even become one of them, they say—if we serve the Dynasty well enough and harness the power of Qi. But I want none of that. I'm sick of serving, and I want nothing to do with their world. Instead, I want them to pay for what they did to mine.

Revisado: 01-12-24
I don't want to wait to continue the story. I have been looking for a progression cultivation story. The book gives a mix of the things I look for in stories: realistic drama, believable dialogue (for the genre), cultural struggles, adult materials (I'm not a fan of relationships that didn't mature, comic content, good training arcs, and of course good fight scenes. Most of all, after reading the book want to see the result of Max's struggle.

Historia
Surviving the first days of the apocalypse, William is a wreck and hiding in an attic. The daily acid storms, floating elementals, and bizarre mutated animals are the least of his problems. The reality-warping apocalypse has rules and a system much like those in video games. To survive, he must learn how the new uncooperative system works, choose a class without any real knowledge of what it does and create a place safe from the spawning horrors.

It has been 50 years since the sun died over Ashathar. Blaike was born in the blight. As one of the "touched" he is devoid of power. He is forbidden from following the Lightweaver Path. The "touched" still serve the brightlands, working the mines to extract sunstone; to deliver it to the Lightweavers, the saviors, preservers, and rulers of Ashathar.

Bones
Revisado: 03-22-23
The plot is good and the writer gives just enough imagery for you to see the world. Poor transitions affected both the performance and story grades (he and she said, especially after the main characters come together). I prefer books that immerse you in conversation and action. I felt disconnected at times. Both narrators had their issues, but Ming Yue's voice, and from a story standpoint, her actions felt childish. I pictured a 14-16 girl, not a 26-year woman. For a cultivation story, the book felt rushed and the characters lost development time due to it. A few changes for me would make this a recommendable purchase.

Two books, two hits. I cannot wait to see what is next from this author. Enjoyed that the main character being an AI places himself in an enhanced human body while retaining all his knowledge. The story is probable (as far as his actions once arriving in the magic universe) and the history flare is a nice touch for the AI (Alexander) to base his OP status on. City building, relationships, and both dungeon and direct combat I'm all for it. Add in the stats that are crunchy but not too crunchy and you have a great litrpg.

I loved the story. I started to physically read this one year ago, but the reviews scared me away. They were dead wrong, the flow of the story is great with enough mix and balance of the main character's point of view. I still have a feeling about Zach, but he is not hated anymore.
