Historia
Lila Kennedy has a lot on her plate. A broken marriage, two wayward daughters, a house that is falling apart, and an elderly stepfather who seems to have quietly moved in. Her career is in freefall and her love life is . . . complicated. So when her real dad—a man she has barely seen since he ran off to Hollywood thirty-five years ago—suddenly appears on her doorstep, it feels like the final straw. But it turns out even the family you thought you could never forgive might have something to teach you: about love, and what it actually means to be family.

Historia
Everyone has a story to tell. But does Janice have the power to unlock her own? She can’t recall what started her collection. Maybe it was in a fragment of conversation overheard as she cleaned a sink? Before long (as she dusted a sitting room or defrosted a fridge) she noticed people were telling her their stories. Perhaps they had always done so, but now it is different, now the stories are reaching out to her and she gathers them to her.

Keep Listening
Revisado: 04-17-25
This book took me a bit to get into. I will admit, I thought of abandoning it and going on to the my next one in my library. I’m so glad that I didn’t. Once it picked up, I couldn’t stop listening. I grew to love the characters and their stories. The narrator was excellent, she gave each character, their own unique voice.

Historia
When Marilyn Kleinman is caught making out with the rabbi’s son in front of the whole congregation, her parents ship her off to her great-aunt Ada for the summer. If anyone can save their daughter’s reputation, it’s Philadelphia’s strict premier matchmaker. Either that or Marilyn can kiss college goodbye. To Marilyn’s surprise, Ada’s not the humorless septuagenarian her mother described. Not with that platinum-blonde hair, Hermès scarf, and Cadillac convertible. She’s sharp, straight-talking, takes her job very seriously, and abides by her own rules…mostly.

So Good!
Revisado: 04-07-25
This story was so good. I didn’t want to end. I fell in love with every single character. I kind of figured out who Ada’s true love was early on, the ending was just perfect! Also, loved the narration!

Loved Everything About It
Revisado: 04-02-25
I loved everything about this story from the flawed characters, the beautiful message and the wonderful narration. You instantly feel as if you know each, and everybody in the story and they are a personal friend. The ending was bittersweet.

Historia
When 58-year-old Helen Spencer reviews her life, what she sees are the mistakes. Over the years, things seemed to go sideways incrementally, one little wrong decision at a time. She can even pinpoint where it all started to go awry: a wonderous, romantic night in the woods her senior year of high school with a boy named Cal Crosby. A night she would soon work hard to forget. Forty years, one marriage, three children, and one grandbaby later, suddenly there he is—Cal Crosby!—right in front of her with grandchildren of his own in tow.

Enjoyable Listen
Revisado: 10-13-24
I really enjoyed listening to this story. I love when the main characters are a little bit more mature in age (it’s much more relatable for someone like me who is of that same age) I felt like I got to know all of the characters so well. The narration was really good. After getting so vested in these characters lives and rooting for them the entire time, I was a little disappointed with the ending and hoping it wouldn’t go the way it did.
