I didn’t know where the story was going when it turn in an unxpected direction. Characters are real, flawed, and the type you root for. And E.B. is my of my favorite audiobook performers and nailed it as always.

Baldacci meets Grisham in an epic journey!

Recommend this for any fans of legal thrillers and insightful, meaningful historical fictional. David B is able to capture the human condition in all its forms and evoke a range of emotions within a compelling plot. The performances are nearly flawless and audio production is fantastic. I’ve listened to a book a week for about a decade and this one hits my top 30 list. Well-done!

An expected change in style from prior books

Couldn't wait for this one and was disappointed; while the character development was exceptional, the plot meandered and didn't bring you through the suspenseful journey with unexpected plot twists exhibited in prior works.

Fantastic story & performance; horrible audio editing and production

Book 2 in the series doesn't disappoint; exceptional narration and plot compromised by poor editing that comes across as robotic and unnatural and seemingly v amateur. Didn't expect this from a Balducci work. Would recommend Mike Charzuk and Audible Studios…they produce the Gray Man series and if you listen to The Edge vs any Gray Man you’ll understand the difference.

Look forward to the next one in the series, hopefully, with higher production quality.

Wow! Didn't expect this and so glad I listened!

I'm typically not one to meditate, but this meditation seemed natural. It got me to relax and rest and I woke up feeling refreshed. Because it is only about a half hour, I didn't even need to set my sleep timer (which I do often) and I was asleep before it ended. Definitely going to listen again tonight.

Audible Nerd Confession

Ok, I usually listen to everything at 1.5X speed, some non-fiction at 1.75X but never less than 1.5X. The writing in 64th man is comedic Sorkin-like wit and the performances (delivery of the jokes) are so funny that I had to *lower* my speed to 1.25X to catch them and savor the full laughs! Haven’t done that since over 300 books ago and, well, it was definitely worth it. The 64th Man is perfect compliment to football season for sports fans and non-sports fans. John Cena was spectacular and the all-star cast made it memorable. The story is kinda like multi-scenes of SNL stitched together into a beautiful narrative — if SNL did movies, this would be a perfect fit.

Unputdownable!

This unforgettable memoir is written like fiction and kept me listening all day! Each character has both superpowers and flaws and the storyline has you laughing one minute, deeply reflecting the next, and feeling anger toward one of the characters moments later. Knowing that this is a memoir and it is real life caused me to empathize with each of the characters in different ways. The narrator does a great job and i think she also narrated Educated by Tara Westover. Overall, I would put this on my top 5 of the year. It offers insights into life and human behavior that is reminiscent of a modern-day work of Shakespeare.

the New Generation of Superheros!

Wow! Mind-blowing! Stan Lee has an uncanny ability to take classic themes and weave them into an epic narrative that relates so well to today's teenagers! The character traits, the areas of concern, personalities, and humor all relate to today's Gen Z. The setting is futurist, and the lessons, takeaways, and storyline are all quintessential Stan Lee! Yara Shahidi delivered a powerful performance and seemed to be a wise choice for the narrator as she is an influential voice of a new generation. Can see A Trick of Light becoming the next franchise movie blockbuster series!

SouthPark meets The Office at Medieval Times!

You can tell the All-Star cast had a blast creating this one! In between embarrassing laugh out loud moments (elliptical neighbors at the gym were ready to commit me!) and relishing the fresh, irreverent, and witty script, you start to realize that the storyline is a satire on modern work culture — and then you can’t stop listening! Hysterical and an easy, fast listen, Heads Will Roll makes for a fun and relaxing break in the day.
