Disappointing
Revisado: 03-11-12
What disappointed you about Bonnie?
This isn't what Audible advertised. NOT satisfying conclusion to Steig Larsen's 'Girl with...' books. Narrator's voice is agitating.
Has Bonnie turned you off from other books in this genre?
Yes. I won't listen to any of other books by this author. I will avoid books narrated by the same woman.
How could the performance have been better?
Slower pace, less saccrine child's voice performance. Lousy story. Poorly written.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Simply too sweet.

Hoped for something new. Very disappointed. If you are just beginning to explore the field, tho,' it could be fascinating. Good Luck!

Bothersome Pace
Revisado: 02-01-08
The pace of this speaker's voice was bothersome - when I wanted to relax. I have deleted it.

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Couldn't put it down - stayed with this story hour after hour. Takes the listener to a time and place not often visited. Invests the listener in the lives and well-being of its characters. Compelling story - well written, nicely narrated.
