Terrible

I am about three hours into this book and am giving up on it. The writing is terrible. The stories jump around, making no sense and leaving the listener confused. The writing is almost cryptic...it's as if the author is trying to convey a silent message to the listener, but even he doesn't know what it is. Don't waste a credit on this one.

Very interesting with just one flaw

This is a very interesting listen. It offers fascinating statistics and sheds new light on "everyday" subjects, such as whether or not Sumo wrestlers cheat, the history of the Klan and the Klan's effect on the number of lynchings, etc. The only problem that I have with the book is that the author frequently talks in sweeping generalizations, and this takes away from his credibility.

This is the worst audiobook I have ever purchased. The author's main goals seem to be 1) Patting himself on the back for his accomplishments and 2) Spewing right-wing, conservative rhetoric. There are a lot better audiobooks out there on this subject. Don't waste your time or a credit on this one.

Interesting & worth a listen!

I liked this book. While the protaganist (Benny) is weak minded, sadomasochistic and basically a loser, the story is somehow interesting. Benny can't face reality, is unfaithful to himself and all of those around him. Yet he is not an evil person...we all have bits and pieces of him in ourselves, I think. The story makes you look a little at yourself, and this is not a bad thing (unless you can't handle it). The speaker, by the way, is excellent. A recommended read.

Absolutely outstanding. The story is imaginative and fun to listen to. The speaker is also excellent. I will, after hearing this story, use plenty of my future credits on more of Douglas Adam's stories.

This was actually a very interesting and well researched book & and was generally a lot of fun to listen to. The reader was fantastic, too. Her "smoky" voice was compelling, without being overly dramatic. Be prepared, though, for the stories of brutality that some (I hope not many) "scientists" (and I use the word loosely, at least with some of them as described here)brutalized (and still brutalize, I know) defenseless animals, in the name of "science". The people that I am describing truly, in my opinion, have cold hearts and no empathy for other living things. The book, as a whole, was top notch and very enlightening. The "experiments" are just part of the story, I guess.
Overall, I highly endorse this audiobook.

This was the first book I listened to since joining audible and I was definetely not disappointed. The reader, first of all, was excellent. More importantly, the information was really interesting. I will think AT LEAST twice before I ever order fast food again. Putting that aside, the details about slaughter house "goings on", feedlot operations and fast food origins are fascinating. Overall, I highly suggest listening to this book.
