Great story--complex and puzzling sometimes. I like the characters but was sometimes confused because of the number of players. The narrator was excellent. I loved him in The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss so was happy to hear him again.

Druids, Catholics, and even Zoroastrians wander through Westeros, reframing their religions for a new world of fantasy. But how medieval is Westeros? Did lady knights and pirates really battle across Europe? The audiobook Winter is Coming: Symbols and Hidden Meanings in A Game of Thrones explores all this and more, from the echoes of history to the symbols and omens our beloved characters.

I loved the characters in this fantasy. They seemed so real to me that I found myself wanting to text them. Of course their worlds and their adventures in them were every bit as fascinating. This quartet is as goo d if not better than all her other books. I can't wait for the finale.

This is an adventurous story full of interesting characters and a complex plot. Robin Hobb has written another excellent trilogy well worth your time and attention. I also enjoyed the narrator's performance. She brought the story alive with her vivid rendition. I highly recommend Ship of Magic to any fantasy fan who loves action and a multitude of evil and heroic characters.

Fool's Errand by Robin Hobb
Revisado: 07-22-15
I like the world that Hobb creates in her stories about Fitzchivalry and the Fool who has now become the Tawny Man. However I wish she would let up on her main character and allow him to connect with others once in a while. Evan 15 years after the first trilogy where we are introduced to her protagonist, he is still isolated and connected only to his wolf. In this story he is even denied the occasional relationship with the young minstrel Starling because of his own belief system. Even though he is affectionate with the fool, the need for secrecy requires them to mimic the relationship between servant and master. When he finally meets his son for the first time he isn't even allowed to be kind to the boy. His dilemmas regarding how he relates to others seems too cruel given his origins and I wish the author would allow him a deeper relationship with someone. In this story even his most cherished companion is taken from him. It doesn't seem necessary to be so cruel to her hero.
