Historia
It was a day like any other day for Marina Trahan...until she caught her husband in bed with another woman. Before that eye-opening wake-up call, Marina would have described her life as average or uneventful, maybe even boring. But now, chaos and confusion reign supreme. She’d expected to slide through midlife with her unwanted extra pounds, chin hair, and hot flashes and move somewhat gracefully into elastic-waist pants and having no verbal filter.

I loved it! It was a bit fanciful but very enjoyable. I've actually listened to it twice. A little real life and positive perspective. I hope a book 2 is coming soon.

It surprised me!
Revisado: 07-17-22
I really loved the 1st book in this series and kind of Disappointed with the arrogance of miss Elva's character at times. The 1st couple chapters I'll grant you were difficult again because of the whining, but I stuck with it and was pleasantly surprised. This was the best one yet. I really really enjoyed it.. Give it a chance, I think you will too!

can't wait for the next book
Revisado: 08-03-21
While the first book is still my favorite I enjoy the twist and turns that come with the story. I am looking forward to the next book. I do hope the series doesn't become a sappy love story and instead continues to show how women can grow, lead AND love.
My only complaint is that some of the male voices are starting to sound the same. Austin, his brother and the thunderbird. I fear that any more male characters and you won't be able to tell some of them apart. But, perhaps its because I've listened to them more than once... My new favorite series since the Miss Fortune series became a bulling fest against Gerdie.
thanks for a great addition in this genre.

Historia
Jessie's new life adjustment is well underway. The tough alpha Austin has joined her team, and she has painstakingly learned to fly. Life is going a-okay. That is, until her parents decide to visit.... They don't know anything about magic, about Jessie's new digs, or about the crazy crew living in and around Jessie's house. She must do everything in her power to keep the truth away from them. Which would be much easier without the unfelt presence lurking within Ivy House's borders. It seems an enemy has figured out a way to magically bypass Ivy House's defenses.

Want believable mystery without gore.. .
Revisado: 10-24-20
I was apprehensive at 1st about this series being that it was written by a Self Help author plus one. I love mystery but had to stop reading the real gory stuff as my daughter went out into the world. And sometimes the funny stuff just doesn't have enough substance. But this book was a perfect balance. A great narrator delivering characters with emotions you can identify with and understand even if they do piss you off at times,, and a story that keeps you on your toes. I can't wait to read the next installment.

Ghost hunter Verity Long is overdue for a little R&R (rest and romance) with her boyfriend, Ellis, and a vintage train trip through the Tennessee mountains seems like just the ticket. The Sugarland Express carries history and nostalgia in every compartment, and Verity is determined to enjoy it - without ghostly interference. But the ghosts have other plans… On a dark, desolate night nearly a century ago, the train was stranded in the mountains, and a young woman was found stabbed to death in her locked compartment.

Historia
Southern girl Verity Long is about as high society as her pet skunk. Which is why she’s surprised as anyone when the new head of the Sugarland social set invites her to join the "it" girls. But this is no social call. Verity’s new client needs her to go in undercover and investigate strange happenings at the group’s historic headquarters. But while spirits are whispering hints of murder, the socialites are more focused on Verity’s 1978, avocado-green Cadillac. And when Verity stumbles upon a fresh body, she's going to need the long-dead citizens of Sugarland to help her solve the crime.

I really enjoyed the books before this and I almost didn't keep listening to this one. The main character is a little bit whiny and she can seriously grate on your nerves, but if you stick it out the story gets better and worth the read.

In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Revisado: 12-04-19
Loved it! As a Caribbean bi-racial person who's roots trace to South Africa and as a huge fan of Trevor 's this book was heart felt and inspiring. It is interesting when we see celebrities and we "think" we know them but don't. I have so much respect for Trevor, not just because of his roots but how he has chosen to shine in spite of his roots. He is a walking, talking testament to all of us on choosing our path.... and doing it with a joyful heart! A must listen book for all ages.

It’s St. Patrick’s Day in Beantown, and Mackenzie Elizabeth Taylor needs the Luck of the Irish to solve her latest mystery - namely, who was the mysterious Uncle Al, the man who left her his apartment building as well as his PI business? But that personal investigation has to take a backseat to raising her teenage genius Mac, and dealing with her immature baby-daddy and demanding mother. Not to mention taking on a job that will actually produce some green. The case is a gnarly dispute by two Irish pub owners who happen to be brothers as well as rivals over a missing inheritance.

Bittersweet, I couldn't wait to get to end to see who done it but now I have to wait for the next one. It's nice to read about a couple who goes with truth instead of deceit and a story that shows that exes can be a part of your life in a functional kind of way....Hope the wait isn't too long.
