We think we know who people are but do we? This story really takes us on a ride of understanding the main characters, who they are, what makes them tick. And every time we think we know them, we find out there is more to know. Loved every minute!

"True belonging doesn't require us to change who we are. It requires us to be who we are." Social scientist Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW, has sparked a global conversation about the experiences that bring meaning to our lives - experiences of courage, vulnerability, love, belonging, shame, and empathy. In Braving the Wilderness, Brown redefines what it means to truly belong in an age of increased polarization.

This book made me grow in unexpected ways
Revisado: 04-26-20
I expected great writing and thought provoking storytelling. After all that is what makes Brene’ Brown books so amazing. This book made me grow. In the way I thought and how I even chose to view my life. Braving the wilderness is scary. But the path is liberating. It may even be required to be a good leader. Such a great read!

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Revisado: 09-06-18
This book was amazing because Trevor is a storyteller as much as he is a comedian. I found myself laughing and agreeing with his societal perspective at the same time. I highly recommend his book to anyone.

Historia
Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed. Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil’s name.

Historia
Every woman lives by a code, whether she realizes it or not. It informs how she treats others and herself, how much she expects of herself, and how far she is willing to go in order to find success. But is the code we're living by truly helping us create the lives of purpose and fulfillment we desire? Or are we sacrificing the deeper things for mere achievement?
