Historia
What if you had to choose between love and money? Jack I’m living my worst nightmare. Competing on a baking show surrounded by loud people all day. But it’s fine. I’m fine. Our family bakery is in trouble and I’d do anything to keep the memory of Mom alive since Love Bakes is the only place where I still feel her presence. Which is why I’m so determined to win the prize money. No distractions, no friendships, no having fun. It’s all about business. Until I meet bubbly Meg—someone whom I’d normally be annoyed by. Maybe life is about more than work? Meg certainly has me ...

Good story.
Revisado: 05-02-25
The virtual narration lacks inflection and the word slowly was pronounced oddly. No more of these for me.

Historia
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

I loved the banter between the main characters.

There was a good storyline. Dot sounds like quite a character. I need more from this author!

Historia
Roger Stringer grew up in rural Mississippi, hunting and eating everything from deer to rabbits. When he had two sons, Zac and Justin, he gave them guns and took them to the woods as well. Then one day when the boys were home alone, he got a call from Zac that Justin had been shot. What follows is an intimate and gripping memoir about the shooting’s aftermath. The story moves between the perspectives of Roger and Zac as they take us through their journey of betrayal, redemption, and ultimately confrontation with a company that had kept its corruption a secret for decades.

This is such a heartbreaking story
Revisado: 11-18-23
I am so glad you told this story there are surely other companies getting away with murder or doing other harm. Hopefully this will inspire others to take action.

In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. What an amazing and ridiculous life!
Revisado: 05-19-19
Trevor North’s story of his childhood was amazing. Great stories from his early years, schools, and church from the South African home where his mother reigned supreme. She raised him under apartheid to be a hard working industrious young man. Since it was his life, he was able to bring me along on his adventures, show me the realizations that he reached in those moments. I don’t think any other narrator could have done as well.

Beautiful story
Revisado: 09-28-18
I just listened to this story in one sitting. It was so good, I listened when I drove to pick up burgers for dinner the voices made the family and people in her life even more alive. Great story of a girl living 2 lives.
