Just a delightful, heartwarming and yet eye opening story about the ladies who remained home while “their boys” when to war. Can’t wait for AJ Pearce to write more!

Historia
Tennessee, 1866. According to the last letter Irish immigrant Catriona O'Toole received from her twin brother, Ryan, he was being dispatched to Franklin, Tennessee, where - as a conscripted Confederate soldier - he likely endured the bloody Battle of Franklin that claimed the lives of thousands. Catriona leaves behind the lush green of their Irish homeland in search of him, with nothing to her name except the sum of cash Ryan sent to their family.

Another great historical fiction!
Revisado: 04-28-21
I love the historical portion of this book. The romance and storytelling seems to run along the same lines in all her books and becomes a bit repetitive (same looks, feelings described, hesitancy and they fully in love) but the books always end with a satisfying ending. I learned more about counterfeit money during that time period which was interesting.

Historia
Though American by birth, Frances Wynn, the now-widowed Countess of Harleigh, has adapted admirably to the quirks and traditions of the British aristocracy. On August 12th, each year, otherwise known as the Glorious Twelfth, most members of the upper class retire to their country estates for grouse-shooting season. Frances has little interest in hunting - or birds or a second husband - and is expecting to spend a quiet few months in London with her almost-engaged sister, Lily, until the throng returns.
