Huh, that’s it?
Revisado: 06-09-22
I am disappointed to say I am not impressed with this story at all, nor the writing style. To each is own. It looks like a lot of people enjoyed this. I felt it was unnecessarily descriptive of things that ultimately got repetitive or didn’t really matter, and the twist came out of left field but not in a clever or important way. But the narrator was great.

Historia
For Ashley and her three friends, it was supposed to be an adventure-filled weekend. A chance to get away from the hustle-and-bustle of city life and experience the peaceful tranquility of nature. But when they ventured into those woods, their trip turned into a horror far beyond what they could have ever imagined. Because these four friends have wandered into the territory of the violent, grotesque Webb family. A group of psychopaths who have a taste for human meat. And they are hungry!

A gory and fun read
Revisado: 09-14-21
The narrator really knocked this one out of the park. The story itself is at times a bit over the top, but as long as you’re not taking it too seriously, it is a really fun and graphic horror story. Cannibals, yes- but there’s also some surprising and cool supernatural elements to the story as well. Overall I give it 5 stars!

Not great, but not bad
Revisado: 01-08-21
I was really into the first of the two stories, however it ended super abruptly and I was confused and shocked at what they considered to be an “ending.”
The second story is a bit drawn out and semi predictable, but I was extremely invested from start to finish!

Historia
During the languid days of the Christmas break, a group of 30-something friends from Oxford meets to welcome in the New Year together, a tradition they began as students 10 years ago. For this vacation, they’ve chosen an idyllic and isolated estate in the Scottish Highlands - the perfect place to get away and unwind by themselves. They arrive on December 30, just before a historic blizzard seals the lodge off from the outside world. Two days later, on New Year’s Day, one of them is dead.

It was alright, but...
Revisado: 01-28-20
This book was entertaining because I thoroughly enjoyed the characters. I related to one of them on a personal level, so I was interested in getting to know each one as well as the dynamic they played in their group of fiends. However, that was 97% of the book.
The build was the entirety of the story and the climax was quick, short, and didn’t fully deliver.
However I enjoyed the ping pong back and fourth the book had my mind doing, trying to figure out who was murdered and who was the killer. The element of mystery was really fun and thoroughly enjoyable.
But I felt like when the climax finally happened, it started and finished within 20 minutes... that’s crazy! The book is 10 hours long!
Just not enough of a pay off when you get so invested.

Historia
Revisiting Dr. Michael Stone's groundbreaking 22-level Gradations of Evil Scale, a hierarchy of evil behavior first introduced in the book The Anatomy of Evil, Stone and Dr. Gary Brucato, a fellow violence and serious psychopathology expert, here provide even more detail, using dozens of cases to exemplify the categories along the continuum. The New Evil also presents compelling evidence that, since a cultural tipping-point in the 1960s, certain types of violent crime have emerged that in earlier decades never or very rarely occurred.

Best True Crime Book I’ve Read in Years
Revisado: 11-07-19
This book is exactly what I was looking for! Lately I’ve been reading a lot of true crime that was either slow, uninteresting, heavily based on police procedure, or just poorly written.
This book is incredible, intelligent, well researched, informative, thought provoking, and absolutely chilling.
This book details dozens of crimes ranked on their scale of what truly makes an evil person, which is well explained and easy to understand.
The crimes explained in this book are both well known and lesser known, which was engrossing. I feel like after reading this, there are probably 15 cases I would like to look up to see if there are separate books written about them.
Lastly, there were fascinating connections made between modern crimes and the changes to the world/human/women’s rights which I have never fully connected before- but it was mind blowing.
I highly recommend this book to both avid readers and knowledgeable true crime buffs and readers who are new to the genre. It’s fantastic.

In the horrifying annals of American crime, the infamous names of brutal killers such as Bundy, Dahmer, Gacy, and Berkowitz are writ large in the imaginations of a public both horrified and hypnotized by their monstrous, murderous acts. But for every celebrity psychopath who's gotten ink for spilling blood, there's a bevy of all-but-forgotten homicidal fiends studding the bloody margins of US history.

Hard to listen to.
Revisado: 10-23-19
I'm not sure if it is the narrator or how the stories jump around so much, but I had a hard time listening to this. I found myself zoning out which usually doesn't happen to me! But, there were some killers that I truly never heard of, so that was cool... When the book was actually able to keep my attention. Haha.

Short and Kinky.
Revisado: 03-06-13
Where does Wicked Weekend rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This book was really fun and short. Normally I like longer books, but this was nice to listen to when I needed a break from the other books that are in my library. It was really entertaining!
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the main character, I thought she was easy to relate to. Lauren, the thicker and less pretty always being compared to her sister, meets a man totally out of her league at a bar. A weekend fling ensues, and of course it's fun to know they're falling for each other. Although the story is easy to predict and may not be extremely original, it's very sexy and enjoyable.
Which character – as performed by Felicity Munroe – was your favorite?
Felicity Munroe was a fantastic narrator. I truly enjoyed the way she expressed every character, it would be hard to name a specific one.

Bonds of Trust Review
Revisado: 03-06-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
It's not that I would change anything about the book itself, but I had a hard time relating and really caring about the main character. I ended up not really liking the person she was and ultimately found her kind of irritating.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Emily Cauldwell?
Absolutely NOT!. I found Emily Cauldwell's narration very hard to listen to. I got very annoyed with the voices she played for both Cali and Jake. If it was narrated by someone different there is a chance I would've liked this story more.
Any additional comments?
Since I am in my early 20's and do not have any children it may have been hard for me to relate to Cali, since she is in her 40's, divorced, and has a daughter. (Which is most of her struggle throughout the entire book.) When I was reading the description for the book I didn't think that those parts of her life would play such a strong role. Knowing what I know now, I probably would not have bought this. However, if you can relate to those struggles that she has and you enjoy kinky romance novels than this may be the book for you!
